Progresso Reduced Sodium Canned Soup, Roasted Chicken Noodle Soup, 18.5 oz (Pack of 12)

I try & keep my sodium intake as low as possible. I love this soup, but can't always find it at my local stores. The price per can is better than local prices when & if I can find it. As a bonus it's delivered to my door & I don't have to carry it home, which becomes more difficult as I get older.

I buy quite a few 12-packs using Amazon. The prices are a little cheaper than in the supermarket and delivery is free. Progresso soups are generally good although i usually add something for bulk - frozen vegetables, garbonzos or sometimes cooked meat. Warming the soup, even to a boil, is not enough to ensure anything raw gets above 165 F inside. I wish Progresso had something like Campbell Chunky chicken tortilla (Campbell's prices have become ridiculous).In addition to soup, I buy canned whole tomatoes, refries, ranch beans, tomato sauce and a few other things in 12-packs.

I was curious about this flavor because it said 'roasted' so I was hopeful that the flavor profile would be slightly different than their normal chicken noodle soup. This particular soup wasn't bad for the price, but for me it didn't taste any different than their normal chicken noodle soup.

This soup is way better than the other brand that comes with long soggy noodles and bits of chicken. I get good sized chicken chunks in this though I wish they included more chicken chunks in the soup. Noodles are good size and not the slurping kind. Vegetables are also good size. I like this variety because it has less salt in it. I don’t know why this isn’t routine as anyone can add more salt if they want to. I also purchased this because it was cheaper to buy on Amazon than in the grocery stores. Really good soup that only takes a short time to make in the microwave or stovetop.

although low sodium, it is still somewhat salty.

Now I won't say that any canned soup is going to taste like homemade, but there are times when you need something convenient without a lot of time or fuss involved. I like that this version has reduced sodium, although I still water it down to cut the salty taste even further. Progresso soups have gotten very expensive in the grocery store so I was pleased to find it on Amazon at a much better price.

I have had a subscription for this for a long time and suddenly there was a 57% price increase of this product which is made in the USA. GREED, GREED, GREED

This soup is really tasty. I coudnt tell it was low sodium. Was not bland at all. The really know how to make the best soups.
