Wheat Starch 2x1lbs

This product arrived right on time and was perfect for my Har Gow recipe. Mixed with some Tapioca Starch I purchased from Amazon, it came out with the perfect texture and taste. Wheat starch is almost impossible for me to find in my local grocery stores so I will definitely be making more purchases of this when I'm finished.

This was a good product at a good price. I did have to repackage it though, as the bags were leaking a bit.

Gives moon cakes that translucent texture. But doesn’t crunch on fried chicken the same as Potato starch

I'm purchasing this wheat starch again because it's a major help in my kitchen! I first came across it as a listed and discussed ingredient in an egg-free meringue cookie recipe by VeganBaking.net. I bake meringue cookies with this starch and they come out light, airy, and crisp. I also use it in place of a some powdered sugar to make whipped frosting. I prefer my frosting to be subtly sweet and since adding less powdered sugar will result in an gooey icing I use a filler like this starch. It seems to whip better than corn starch (in combination with other ingredients) and its flavor is neutral and non-imposing like corn starch. I'm still finding uses for it and I'm happy to have found it here on Amazon.

I used this starch to make glue for wet mounting ink paintings on Chinese paper. It worked perfectly - it is a very finely milled, pure wheat starch - and much less expensive than wheat starch sold by art supply stores. It can also be used to thicken sauces in cooking. I did not rate the flavor as it is not used to add flavor. Delivery was very prompt.

I had been looking everywhere for this flour. The shrimp dumplings were worth the wait!

This product was posted as a GLUTEN FREE WHEAT STARCH. Codex is a gluten free wheat starch. I became ill after making yeast bread using only 1 teaspoon of this starch, along with gluten free flour. I have celiac disease and can not eat wheat. This product was listed and popped up as a gluten free wheat starch. What a waste of money.

Hard to find in local stores. I need this for Cook for Love recipes for PKU
