Good taste, quality, and quantity. I like it.
Dehydrated vegetables retain more vitamins than does canned or frozen. It also has the taste I like when making a quick soup.I like making soup with dehydrated vegetables when I just want to make it quick. I add my own herbs and spices, and mystery meat (leftovers) of the day. Carry-out chicken is really good for that, when you add a little of the breading. Always tastes better than canned soup but, the thin watery canned soups are a ready-made stock (lot of salt though) and I always add water. Anyway it is all good so try it!

Very handy and a delicious flavor, too
Ok, so I HATE wasting anything. I have a habit, when cooking, of saving the odds and ends and making a stock on a back burner. But, while I am doing that, I don't want to take time to cut up the accompanying veggies. These worked beautifully for that purpose, not even slightly vinegary as some dried veggies can be. But, while I was using them that way, I also noticed that they plump up beautifully and have a great flavor; so much so that it seems almost a shame to use them in stock. I have also been using them in stews and ragu, where I would normally use fresh, and they work brilliantly there, too. They plump up beautifully and have good flavor, so one actually needs less than one might think. Just a teaspoon was more than enough to flavor a stock from some chicken bones.

Flavorful and easy to use, but seal was broken
I ordered several types of dehydrated vegetables at once in order to qualify for free shipping. This container of celery, as well as one other container arrived with the inner seal loose, so I was a little concerned about freshness. There is no use by date nor packing date anywhere to be found on the container. But the product was very fresh tasting and easy to use. I often throw diced veggies into rice along with whatever herbs I have on hand, and tried these today. They have a slight salty taste straight from the container, but the contents states there is only celery inside so I am puzzled by that. The problem with the seal, lack of date anywhere on the jar, and questionable salty taste led me to give four stars instead of five. But I am sold on these and will use them as a back up for when I do not have fresh celery, or don't have time to dice it.

Chewy, but good for soup and stew
It is just what is says - dried celery. It is very bright green (nice). It is very flavorful (also nice -- just beware you don't use too much). It is tiny, tiny, tiny. Even after rehydrating it is still very small (1/8 to 1/2 wide pieces, consistently 1/8 thick cuts). And it is very chewy, even after it has cooked for while. So it will not be the first thing I go to when I want to put celery in a soup, stew, etc. But, as a backup item, it works fine, and I am thankful Amazon had it since it is not something I could find in local stores. The value is good too: 6 oz. for about $10. I've ordered freeze-dried celery from another supplier for twice as much per ounce. The only change I would ask for is for it to have a flip-top lid. The older I get the less able I am to easily handle screwed on/off lids.

This is a wonderful product
I live in an area where fresh produce is hard to come by. This product has turned into a "must have" for me. Although the pieces are rather small, the celery flavor is exceptional, and I have used this in stews, soups, crockpots and sautés many times to replace fresh celery; and it has worked out just fine. I won't say that it is better than fresh, but it is a wonderful replacement, and I would hate to be without it. If you cannot get fresh produce, try this; I think you will be happy you did.

Very handy to have around
I love this product because I don't really care much for celery, but miss it's flavoring in certain dishes. I can't just go buy one stalk at a time, so when I do, I have lots of rotting celery to feed down the garbage disposal. I'm also a bit of a lazy cook, I hate all the chopping and deveining, it's such a pain that I have just omitted the celery many a time. I'm also not about to dehydrate my own either. This product is awesome. I simply shake out a small handful (No matter how much the recipe calls for.) and it's perfect.I think you are supposed to rehydrate it with water first, I don't even do that. Just toss it in while you are cooking or making a cold salad. Just allow it time to plump up on it's own. (It doesn't take long in hot dishes, about an hour in the fridge for cold.)I read another review where someone had brown celery. I think I may have discovered the reason. It might have been exposed to light. Mine was nice and green, but I noticed one day that the leaves were turning brown. There is a slat missing on the pantry door and it was directly hitting the jar. I hid it in the very back and that seems to have fixed the problem. As for the price, it seems expensive, but it's very shelf stable and should last a long time. (Just keep it dark, dry, and cool.)11/13/2016: I still have the same bottle and it's still edible (flavorful). However; I've started grinding what I need to flavor my dishes. I like doing it this way much better. Seriously just a little pinch or maybe two if you really love celery will do.

Love the Convenience!
I'll start by saying the dehydrated celery I purchased came in a plastic jar, not in a bag, & it is super convenient. As one of those people who never could use fresh celery fast enuf, I hated putting it in the compost pile. I use the dehydrated celery in any recipe that calls for celery &, as long as it's allowed to soak awhile, it makes a great substitute for fresh-cut.

Labor Saver
Harmony House's Freeze-Dried Celery helps cut prep time on soups, stews, and casseroles PLUS, for smaller households, helps avoid food waste. I'm not a huge raw celery eater, so I tend to buy celery for a specific recipe, then end up discarding 2/3rds of it 6 weeks later when I haven't used it all. Not any more. I keep this in my pantry and then just add a tablespoon or two to my recipes (if adding to a casserole recipe, make sure there's enough extra liquid to rehydrate this while cooking). The flavor's excellent, just like "real" celery (because it IS real celery, just freeze-dried). Best of all, you just use what you need & keep the rest for later. It will keep in your pantry for quite some time. Highly recommended time saver!

Intense flavor
Lovely added to a soup mix or a stew, or roast or frittata. Try w/ tuna salad, sooo good. For me it's for everyday & part of our hurricane preparedness kit. Great flavor, another of my favorite, oh so good veggies. Very happy. Really never spoils!

This is excellent to have on hand for soups
This is excellent to have on hand for soups, stews, casseroles etc. Wish the pieces were just a bit larger, but still very good. I live far out in the country and I am disabled, running to the store for 2 stalks of celery isnt in my wheelhouse and this fits the bill. I have purchases it twice and will continue to do so. Great celery flavor.

Just So Easy!
Love to add the celery to make soups & sauce. No washing, chopping or waste. Fresh celery taste. Start with a small amount and add more if you like so it doesn't overpower your soup. I add about a tablespoon per gallon of soup. Now I only buy fresh celery when I plan to use it right away for salads or snacks. Of all the perfectly good veggies I've bought that wind up forlorn in the fridge and go in the garden compost, I have to admit that celery was the most common.

Will work in a pinch
I hate throwing away so much fresh celery around home so I thought I would keep some of this in the pantry. I tried it last night in a small pot of chicken soup and while it tasted fine I did notice that when reconstituted the slices are very small indeed, almost as if the widest stalk that was chopped for this was just barely a quarter inch wide. Also as it sat in the soup it sort of disintegrated over time, sort of as if just the outside of the stalk was left without anything inside the skin. I think it would be fine to use in applications like chicken or tuna salad where you would reconstitute it and then mix it into the salad but where it doesn't spend any time in liquid after you first reconstitute it.

Perfect for Tuna Salad!
I bought this to use in tuna and chicken salads. Was a bit worried that it wouldn’t work well in a liquidless recipe. After adding a little water and nuking a small amount for 15 seconds in a tiny glass bowl, it worked great! It’s also very flavorful. I’m sure it will be good for soups and other foods also. Highly recommended!

Keeps well
Hard to find in local grocery. My fresh celery always goes bad before I get it all used. This product doesn’t rot in the frig! I use it for soup flavoring, in roasts...in anything I’d want celery flavor

works well for us celery haters
I hate celery, never buy it except on rare exceptions, like when I am making stuffing for a turkey. But it does add flavor to soups, so, I purchased this, nice size, reasonable price, and seems to work just fine. Sprinkled some into my home made crock pot chicken noodle soup, worked well. Cooked up, got soft and the flavor was there.
