Perfect
Great reference. I use this a lot at work and it has great examples and explains some functions that are not easily found in google etc. I highly recommend this book for anyone learning/intermediate with SSIS.

Covers some basics but is getting out of date
The book will help you get started and cover some more complex situations but not with the level of detail to make a difference. I'd look for the book at a used book store or purchase an e-version. The printed book is not worth the asking price. It didn't teach me much more than I already knew from using YouTube and working through requirements, but it will provide someone new to SSIS with a decent starting point.

Not a good book for beginners or intro into SSIS
I bought when I was new to SSIS and while this book is OK as a reference it is way too detailed for much else. You would be hard pressed to read it in sequence. I have spent the last 20 years working in DW environments and used many of the mainstream BI and ETL tools out there. I am impressed with SQL Server and SSIS but this book is not the way to be introduced to SSIS. Yes the authors know their stuff, but they try and cram it all into this book from page one. They would be better off with some simple basics using screen shots to build your first flows and then provide quick guides to deeper functions. I ended up learning SSIS through an introduction class, msdn and blogs, plus some YouTube videos. This book rarely gets used now. I would not recommend it for beginners.

Still the Best
This is the classic SSIS manual. It has been updated with each release and is still my favorite and I've been developing in SSIS since it was released.

Good but not perfect
A good and useful book but typical of this series, contains a lot of detail and sometimes difficult to find what is applicable to what you are doing.

Too verbose
Good book, but way verbose.

Well worth the cost
As an application developer with decades of experience facing SSIS for the first time, this book was invaluable to me. I thought it was a bit expensive, but it has saved it's cost many times over in terms of avoiding hours of frustration dealing with new (and it has to be said, un-intuitive) technology. It's well presented, topics occurring in a good order, and with examples and exercises that are relevant. The chapter on variables and parameters is particularly useful.

Great book but worst print quality
Great book but worst print quality. Looks like they print books in India with cheapest paper quality. Images are not clear in printing and paper is soo thin that printer materials can be seen on the other side as well.No wonder why people prefer to read an electronic version of book instead of actually buying it.. Very poor.
