Excellent product !
Awesome product at reasonable price. Although I was supposed to eat a pomegranate a day I wasn't. But now with this it's hardly taking me 3 to 4 minutes and it's so quick and easy. Very little juice comes out due to smashing but that's perfectly OK. And yes the white portion also falls into the bowl along with pomegranate which I pick out. All in all a very good buy. Strongly recommend.

Waste of money and time.
Today I used it and again made a mistake of not testing a product immediately to avail return. If you hit lightly anar pearls come out 4-5 at a time only. If you hit harder, they get squeezed and come out with the white skin also. Bad experience. The design itself is bad of the strainer.

Handy tool to extract pomegranate seeds
It works and is convenient. The package contains a white coloured 'chopped off cone' shaped plastic bowl to collect the seeds, a plastic cover plate for the bowl with large sieve to let the seeds pass through & a yellowish rubbery dome to hold one half of pomegranate over the sieve while tapping with a spoon/ladle.Surprise part is that the white bowl is quite wide & the sieved cover plate sits at its neck & the rubbery dome is almost only half the diameter of the open end of the bowl - so it's not 'a dome fully covering the white bowl mouth' as shown in the picture. No harm as it works okay still.Dome is small & the pomegranate that I did a trial on today was even smaller so some of my 'hits' over the rubber seemed bit funny with empty regions of the dome playing around a bit. Results were good. White container had almost whole of pomegranate insides though, white pips & seeds & all & some sorting was required before consumption. Probably I hit too hard with a thick aluminium ladle! The usual method of extracting pomegranate seeds at home is by cutting the fruit into equal halves (tip: cutting it through the smooth middle of the fruit so that the whole ends of the fruit become part of separate hemispheres. Tip added as some cut fruits through the fruit ends i.e. the parts where fruit joins tree & this will make seed extraction more difficult), placing one half of the fruit atop open left palm with fruit insides touching the palm, holding the palm with fruit over a wide vessel & tapping the fruit with a ladle. This way the seeds gets collected in the vessel with pips et al. Issue is that the whole left palm that holds the fruit insides, becomes coloured, nail ends turn purple, difficult to wash off & the work area (& at time apron/dress worn) later looks like a war field with purple juice sprays & seed bits. Now this tool comes handy as palms are safely away & the sieve takes the place of the palm. We can start hitting softly at the highest point on the dome & move towards lowest point with zero skin contact with the juice or pulp. However as the sieve lets smaller pips pass through, sorting is required & you may have to 'dirty' your fingers anyway but only a little in comparison - may be the reason why one star less on the rating :-) It still 4 stars as the 'war zone' impact is not there as all the pips & seeds are collected in the wide bowl so convenience factor still holds. For those not used to the 'hitting way' of extracting pomegranate seeds, probably this tool might seem a bit novel and this could be one of the reasons for some extremely disappointed comments seen here. It would be better if we try the plain hitting technique few times with available vessels/ladles at home to get an idea of the 'hitting technique' before ordering the tool. The price was aagain one of the prime factors that kept me away from buying this as logically for 2 piece of plastic ware & half a sphere of rubber ware, a logical price should be less than 100rs – again the easy availability of pomegranate seed packets despite the spiked price was another reason for not going for this. Finally decided to procure it so as to save on the prohibitive cut fruit packet prices & summary, no regrets!

Please Look into Design Aspects of the Product.
It is a good product and I enjoyed using it for last few days. I was very delighted to own this product as it reduced the work and made the things easy to peel and eat pomegranates quickly.Last night I realised that, this product is good only for few uses. As I used, the top screen broke from the edge. I do not know whether my force was more or the product was defective (or might have developed cracks)?Fact is it needs to be stronger and till then product selling companies should sell screens also as there must be a good demand for that.By the way to make it long lasting design needs to undergo reliability and dependability test.If you can help me buy one piece screen and help avoiding disappointment, that would be a good gesture. I can pay on delivery the charges for the same.

A truly useful product. If the pomegranate is refrigerated
A truly useful product. If the pomegranate is refrigerated , skin tends to become bit dry and hard. In that case, put four cuts on the skin only of halved piece extending from periphery to centre thereby facilitating it to open up when tapped and allowing the seeds to pop out. If the pomegranate is fresh, one may not need to do this little extra effort.

Easy to operate and a handy product by Amazon.
It is easy to operate. You just have to cut the pomegranate into 2 equal halves, along with the crown and then place it on the mesh and hit it with either a wooden ladle or a rolling pin. The plastic material is sturdy so it doesn't break while hitting. A handy product, saves time and relieves of the difficult process of separating seeds from pomegranates manually. Would definitely recommend this.

Too much priced
This product price is bit high when compared with similar kind of products. For senior citizens, though it gets rid of the problem of peeling of pomegranate, injects another new problem of hammering with a ladle ( a big headed spoon) on the pomegranate, which is again not only difficult for senior citizens but may misfire on their fingers.
