I adore this book! I found that I truly couldn't wait each evening to read more. As a reluctant but frustrated "wanna be" writer, the encouraging words, history and lore, hints and tips, and the practice sessions were and will continue to be a great source of inspiration. Highly Recommended!

This book is an excellent introduction to the craft of writing. It approaches writing as yet another tool in the arsenal of any magickal practitioner. It is written in a way that allows you to hone existing writing ability through exercises and analogies with magickal flavor and context. I highly recommend it for the magickally inclined.

Not just "a" book but a GREAT book that addresses the writers life & the magickal life, bringing them together in a way that leaves you asking "Why didn't I think of that?"

As a writer I have always believed that words hold power of their own. This is certainly true of the Runes, the ancient alphebet and oracle of the frozen northern lands of Europe. I like the writing excercises.

bought this for a gift for my friend. he read it and told me it was well written and very helpful to him. he said it was easy a 5 star book.

Was hoping it was a little more into the lore of what words and word forms can be in relationship to magick, but it was just a primer for writers to get the wheels turning and keep moving forward. Nice for what it is... good beginner stuff for the practicing word smith.

J'ai beaucoup aimé ce livre, qui regorge d'idées auxquelles, personnellement, je n'aurais pas du tout pensé, que ce soit la première partie sur le kit de l'écrivain (hmm, l'idée de l'étole, vraiment top !) ou les rituels. Toutes les techniques d'écritures proposées, les exercices, sont très intéressants, ainsi que les petits Scribbulus - que je n'ai pas encore fait mais que j'ai lu, et qui sont plutôt intrigants pour la plupart. J'aime beaucoup la technique du "looping" qu'elle présente, par exemple, je ne connaissais pas du tout et c'est intéressant de découvrir ce genre de choses. Il y a une vraie volonté de présenter les notions et les techniques de façon claire et l'auteur y arrive très bien, ce qui est vraiment agréable. Pour moi qui n'ai pas tellement l'habitude de toucher à l'écriture qui ne soit pas de la fiction ou quelque chose de personnel, les passages sur l'organisation, par exemple, d'un texte explicatif sont très intéressants, alors que les parties sur l'écriture de fiction présentaient des éléments que je connaissais déjà (mais que j'ai aimé relire ou redécouvrir sous une autre plume !)La bibliographie, très complète, commentée et correctement rangée par thème, est aussi un gros plus pour ce livre à mes yeux. J'aime bien pouvoir parcourir les biblios et découvrir de nouveaux livres qui pourront attirer mon intérêt.Par contre, il y a des endroits que j'ai trouvé un peu ... étrange. Le chapitre 10, par exemple, sur les différents types d'ouvrages magiques, m'a semblé totalement superflu et peu utile. Ces pages là auraient pu être utilisée pour renforcer la partie sur l'écriture de rituel ou sur les correspondances, c'est dommage. De même, pour la page sur la divination, certaines méthodes n'avaient pas l'air à leur place. Bref, c'était un peu maigre du côté des rituels / correspondances, mais intéressant néanmoins.En conclusion, pour moi, ce livre a rejoint très vite Tarot for Writers de Corinne Kenner dans les livres à avoir sous la main quand j'écris. C'est une excellente ressource sur l'écriture de façon générale, avec de bonnes idées pour la pratique magique ... ou la pratique de l'écriture de façon générale quand on baigne dans une pratique spirituelle.
