Better than expected
I decided on this wallet after looking at the different brands and types of wallets for 2 weeks. It came down to 2 brands Ledger and Trezor, Ledger has some negative views because of the leaked user data and it nearly turned me off. I found out that Trezor also had leaked user data but it rarely gets brought up, both were the result of hacks. I liked how Ledger has since stepped up their game in terms of security and the recovery key was a big factor in my decision. They are 95% open source not fully because the chip manufacturer requested to keep their security methods locked down. I remember the early days of Android and the hacks due to it being a new open source system so it took time to offer a secure and stable platform. Fully open source for a system that is protecting my money just wasn't appealing, they tout a chip but I know nothing about their software security measures. The device itself blows me away by how solid and responsive it is, setup was a breeze and the security around it seems top notch. I was sweating bullets when transferring all of my crypto, i double checked the addresses and everything went through without a hitch. Still new to the ledger system but so far I am really enjoying it. I'm happy I took the time to research and not let the initial negativity some have with Ledger deter me. Companies can redeem themselves and I love it when they double down and go above and beyond to gain that trust back.

Recommended for everyone!
This is my first experience with a hardware wallet, and this is good. It was relatively easy to set up and use, and the screen helps. I saw a similar item that didn't have a screen, and it appears the screen is better (based on my use). Battery life is good and the durability appears to be good. The small form factor and the case is good for travel.

easy setup, easy recovery
had a ledger nano forever but kept getting a message saying it was unsupported now or whatever, so I bought this and the quality and feel of use with this device is much nicer than the usb stick in my opinion. glad I finally upgraded after like 8 years lol I also just recovered my old phrase into this wallet so I dont have to worry about trying to remember 24 different words!

Best for multi-coin and UX as of 2025, but that's still not great.
Ledger is currently the most well-known of the crypto hardware wallets, and has built out the functionality of its devices and the "Ledger Live" software better than all of the other providers. As a hardware wallet, it can access more coins / chains than any of the other offerings, and as the most well-known provider it has the best integration with various crypto and Web3 services. Their Ledger Live software will allow some additional functionality like in-app staking and some DEX swaps depending on the token. Ledger Live only works for some chains, however; for other chains something like a specialty browser wallet is required, though the Ledger does store the keys. The Flex is the first of their "second generation" hardware wallets, using e-ink and a touch screen rather than a tiny LED display and a pair of buttons, so it's a bit more convenient and easy to use than the older / cheaper versions. That having been said, this device isn't the most intuitive if you're not crypto-familiar; there's no standardization of interfaces between chains, for example, so how one chain performs a function will be different than how a different chain does the same function on the device. Still, despite such difficulties, Ledger remains best-in-category for UX and for the number of chains it can access. I get VERY frustrated by its short time-out period, which is not adjustable. Most Web3 activities take some futzing about and troubleshooting / exploring to do what you want to do, and the Ledger will ALWAYS time-out while you're working through things. Expect to have to enter your 4-8 digit code over and over and over and over again during a given session, especially if you're doing anything complex or new. Ledger's security is probably adequate, but they have received quite a bit of criticism for building in a "recovery" option which seems to compromise the full security of the chip in favor of allowing a remote recovery of lost credentials for people who are careless. It is not a fully air-gapped, deep-cold storage solution like NGrave; think of this more like a very secure form of hot wallet that tries to find the sweet spot between high security and usability in Web3 dapps.

The Best Crypto Hard Wallet
I’m 68 years young, and first time crypto trader. After doing much research, I decided to purchase Ledger Flex. It is very easy to operate and verify it is secure each transaction. I highly recommend this Hard Wallet, to anyone.

A crypto owners BEST FRIEND!
Excellent. In a world where digital safety seems lackluster at best, this tiny little device ensures my crypto currency remains away from prying eyes. Pros Size: minimal and very comfortable to carry around or store it in a vault without sacrificing space. Value: slightly overpriced IMO but worth it for the peace of mind. Card Capacity: While it has been plenty for me, it might prove limited to some. Cons As of now, after nearly one year of use, I cannot say I have any complaints. Final thoughts Absolutely love it. Love the looks of it, the efficiency, reliability and overall PEACE OF MIND.
