A hidden gem, I can't believe it took me so long to find this game.
I spend a good but of my free time playing and looking through the games offered (on sale usually, but also through the full price games for games to watch) and I had sworn I'd seen everything that fits in the categories I like to play. Imagine my surprise when I seen this first on game pass for my xbox, and begun playing it on there. The ps4 has more of my regularly played games on it though, so more often then not that is the console I use. Of all the xbox games I've played, this is only the second game I purchased that I did so just to have on the other console, also so I own it for when it's removed from game pass. I usually play RPGs, first person shooters, fantasy, open world, narrative driven games, etc. This game has a lot of hours of play to be had, especially if you are a meanderer like me, a great story that doesn't overwhelm with cutscenes repeatedly, and enough freedom to feel like a semi open map. Plenty of exploration to do, and you can entertain yourself finding new areas, like buildings you can enter, that aren't even mission based, endlessly without even doing the main quests and side quests. Told from the perspective of three different people, you play each perspective completely before moving to the next with the story line, and the DLC adds new perspectives and new locations, a good 20 hours of gameplay a piece, if you take it slow and explore like me. More that worth the purchase, I just wish I had found this dystopian nightmare sooner. The DLC are all included, there's a code inside, don't throw it away! It's how you redeem your DLCs.A little about the story with no spoilers; a retro future, feels like the 50s buts with futuristic technology that blends the time periods. Everyone takes a pill daily to stay "happy" but that leads to them not seeing the world falling apart around them. When it wears off, the horrors become clear. You HAVE to take the medicine though, if you don't and you are caught, it means death or something like it. Something is going wrong though, and even people who take their Joy like they are supposed to are starting to see the world as it really is, and remembering the past as it actually happened, not the past as the Joy makes them see it. Find out about your real past, and the war and extermination of all the children under a certain age, while trying to not be caught as a "Joyless Downer" and unravel the mystery of what is happening to you and the people around you.

Weird, Wacky, full of grubs
I enjoyed this on GamePass. Absolutely sucked at it and only just got a feel for the controls when the game was pulled. It is a game that's fun. Yay things that are fun. Yay games.

Xbox? Yes.
Gameplay is gameplay. The people are characters. Characters are people, etc. the environments have trees, concrete, lights, buildings, etc. Buttons on the controller are directly linked to character actions.

Fantastic for an Indie Game!
We Happy Few was honestly, a really interesting experience for players like myself. While it might not have lived up to expectations a lot of people had, since I feel like people were expecting the next Bio-shock. I think those expectations were just far too high for a game that just did not have the budget, and because of that, I think a lot of people were left feeling very unsatisfied with it. However, for players like myself who went into the game with no expectations, whatsoever, I was really surprised by how much it intrigued me.The storylines keeping my interest really going, I loved how you got different perspectives of the other characters which allowed questions to be answered but only if you played everyone's path. It's a dark game, but for me, I felt like it was more of a psychological thriller than a horror game. Being able to really hate characters, but then like them as your play them was telling me how well the game did with showing their perspectives and keeping you invested in those stories.Honestly, while the game itself needed more time in devolvement to tie up some of the loose ends, It's understandable why it wasn't possible. After all, there was no large studio backing up this project but you could tell that a lot of love went into the game. I do hope we get a sequel game, one day because there are so many questions I still have, and would love for them to get answered one day.

Compulsion Games bloated over thought mess
For those gamers hoping that We Happy Few will be the next BioShock, Far Cry, or DishonoredYou'll be both disappointed and underwhelmedWe Happy Few is going to be the most divisive game of this generationI had major expectation for this title(Contrast Compulsion Games first big game is fantastic and one of the best and most underrated games of the past generation and the new generation)I dumped 5-6hrs into this game not even sure if and when I'm going to revisit thisI wanted to love this game but, I can understand why so many people have express there hate for this particular titleWe Happy Few is a very cool concept with no real identity of it's ownCombining elements of Fallout, BioShock, Zombie and the re-boot of Prey you get We Happy FewThe game feels super bloated (There's a lot of spinning plates)Story: Not so much of a let down but, Once you get out of the first decaying villageYou'll going to see where the story goes... Which isn't a bad thing but, it's lacking the heart and soul of all 3 BioShock, and Far Cry 2-5 and Dishonoerd 1&2The story and style are standouts but, the presentation leaves the game a little anti-climacticControls: so/so the game being super bloated effects the controlsThe weapon combat is average (Feels like Zombie U-Zombie HD) The weapon combat in The Dead Island Series and Dying Light is close to perfect this on the other hand is "off"Graphics: are a true mixed bag while the art style is very slick the game itself doesn't look XBoxOne X enhancedThis game doesn't look 4k in fact at times you'd think this would run on the 360/PS3Audio: Super Impressive the DTS audio option is the best way to expierence a title like thisthe sounds impact every speaker at the right timeAgain home theater sound is the real VR having sound in golf a entire room adds a lot even to average games! It's very hard to recommend this game (either rent it or wait until a major price cut)

日本語対応してます
ローカライズはお世辞にもいいとはいえませんが、日本語でできるだけでも買いです。たぶん国内ではXBOX以外では出てません。内容がヤバいとのことで一度オーストリアで発禁になりそうになった問題作。
