Excellent for Seed Starting Additive; No More Peat
Was recommended this product from Blossom and Branch Farm on YT as a component in my peat free seed starting soil. I can fully affirm this product does exactly what it says. It’s sustainable and is an excellent source of slow release nitrogen for your plants. I am looking forward to using it when I transplant my starts into the garden as an amendment to my raised bed soil.It was easy to fluff and rehydrated extremely well unlike peat. It is also highly sustainable. The thing I disliked about peat for my seed starter mix was when watering first time or when dried out peat soil rises to top of container until fully rehydrated. Sheep wool doesn’t do this at all.My seeds germinated quickly and appear to be loving the nitrogen supplied by the pellets. Optionally the blocks I used Mykos on comparing to sheep wool pellets blocks…the sheep wool block’s plant seem a tad larger, bigger stemmed, greener and fungus free. Amazing product. While the price point may cause some steer away I suggest trying it and comparing to your current seed starting soil and the difference is visually clear that this product is worth every penny. It also fluffs up, just like peat does when rehydrating so a little goes a very long way. I used 1 part of fluffed pellets to 4 parts soil before rehydrating to use my soil blocker.HIGHLY recommend.

An Environmentally Friendly Gift to the Gardener!!
I have deer, squirrels, rabbits - and Slugs... I never knew I had them, but after they ate my Lupine and Poppy plants after a few weeks of good growth, I declared war. But I really prefer to deter... so I heard about these wool pellets... they're meant to be a soil conditioner, and a (who knew) fertilizer for gardens, but the slugs have difficulty travelling over the wool, so I've put these pellets out everywhere to deter slugs from quietly munching my plants. It's worked and the wool appears to be adding so much to the garden also... without any chemicals, plastic, or materials that have a huge carbon footprint. One thing to know, these pellets expand when they make contact with damp soil or water, so use a scattering first, then see how much more you need. I'm delighted to support a farm industry that isn't part of the food chain, so this product is a win, win, win...!! I'm buying more soon!!

Does great job
Does stop slugs from damaging vulnerable plants . Easy to put down. They do have a very strong smell of urine but that disappeared rather quickly. Do wish they were less expensive but if used as directed wish I did not they will cover several plants

Little power house
These wool pellets are awesome. I used them in a soil block seed starting mixture. They hold water well and help give the soil blocks their shape. Great fertilizer! My only mistake.... I should have bought a bigger bag!!

Very effective!
I recently read a knitting blog about wood pellets and wanted to give them a try so bought a small bag. I put the pellets in some garden containers and they noticeably keep the water in the planter. We have very hot summers and the container plants in particular are very wilted by late morning, and the pellets really made a difference. I’ll be adding them to the full garden next spring.

Great for soil blocking
I've been using these with potting soil for soil blocking. They're a bit bulky for the little blocks, but wonderful for the larger ones. I'm going to try putting them in the blender with some water the next time I make small blocks. They help the blocks retain water and fertilizer them gradually for me.

Too expensive for the amount you receive.
Very expensive for the amount you get. It's scrap wool for heaven's sake. This is a waste product that is repurposed as mulch or fertilizer for plants. It worked well to keep the slugs and snails at bay but is way to costly to use for more than a few plants. Once my plants were big enough to fend for themselves, I removed it to use again next year.

Great addition for starting seedlings!
I pulsed these in a food processor with some water to loosen them up, then mixed one part pulsed wool pellets with six parts Foxfarm Coco Loco Potting Mixand made soil blocks. My summer squash seeds were up in three days. Amazing! Some others took a little more than two weeks. I will definitely use again. I also will likely mix some according to package directions with my garden soil when I transplant.
