These straps have worked out great. The little foam patch keeps them from scratching anything under the buckle. My old straps were too soft and were hard to feed through the buckle and had a tendency to bunch up when pulling them through. No problems with these. They are stiff enough to feed through easily and stay flat as you are pulling them through. Even has a small Velcro piece to fasten them after spooling them up. Would definitely recommend.Edit: January 2020. Three years later and still using these same straps and they are still in great shape.

We bought these straps to use not only as kayak straps but to also use to strap down a small two man boat. These straps seem to work just fine when we're tootling back and forth to our local lakes. I like the protective pad that keeps your car safe from scratches and scuffs and the materials used seem to be of high quality and are put together well even though they are pretty light weight. I'm hesitant to use these on longer trips simply because I don't want things rocketing off of our SUV while we're driving, but I'll give them a go and update my review once we go somewhere a little farther away. Overall, these are great straps for the price and multi-purpose!

Just put them on my new kayak trailer setup. I’m surely jumping the gun on my really early review. But, I have high hopes for these straps. I do wished they where softer like cotton straps but other then that I’m sure they will get the job down. I’m using 6 to hold my 2 kayaks to my trailer. I did however put them to a little test before I put my trailer on the road. And I didn’t notice much loosening after doing donuts in my yard lol I didn’t wanna get them to tight to the trailer and damage my kayaks. The only down side is how long it takes me to strap all 6 straps to my kayaks haha.

These are light and compact tie down straps. Since they're only 1 inch thick, they can be easily stored anywhere in your car. Though it's thin, the type of weave the strap has makes it durable and can handle light-medium loads. There is a piece of felt/polyester below the buckle to prevent the buckle from scratching your car. The buckle is made of metal, which makes me concerned about it rusting (but I live in a place that rains like 3 times a year, so I can't really test this). Overall, it's durable and good for light-medium loads.

I have a bike rack in my truck that locks the front tire down securely... but I'm kind of a freak so I bought a package of 4 of these and use them to add that additional security of keeping my bike upright. They are easy to use and don't have a ratchet system, which can sometimes be a nightmare. Also, it has a sliding pad so you don't scratch your bike.Good product and very good price.FYI - you can cut them to your desired length. If you do cut them, use a lighter to singe the end you cut. It will just make it easier when feeding it through the clamp.One more note; I leave these in my truck at all times and have had them for over a month and the ratchet has not rusted at all.

I am actually quite happy with these ties. It has a nice black color. It was a bit thin so I was afraid of putting too much when using these ties. I tried holding down several items during a move. The problem I faced was the thinner ties makes it hard to really secure larger objects so be aware of that. I found this works best for items such as bikes and boats at times. When holding down certain objects know that the friction can cause some scratches to the items. It is pretty easy to tie and secure with the hinges. The fact it comes with four ropes makes it very nice to hold using all 4 corners of the truck that I utilize. It does come in an antistatic like bag and are held together per zip ties. They have a good length to them making it easy to hold bikes up if needed. The hooks are made of metal so you do not have to worry about them breaking too easily. Overall great quality and no issues.

I haul lots of things on my car. I should probably just buy a truck, but a station wagon with a giant basket on the roof has proved useful.I always seem to have issues with straps having ratchets in inconvenient places where it scratches paint or plastic. These have a nice padding underneath the buckle which protects the items I am hauling.I haven't used these yet for any sort of long haul, just in town, but they've held tight and worked well for me.

I used these straps to transport a 65 pound, 12 foot kayak 500 miles on the roof of my Subaru Outback. My highway speed was around 70 mph. I also used a hitch mounted "T" bar to secure the back of the kayak and used an additional strap around the kayak and fed it through the interior of my car through the back doors. I had absolutely no problems whatsoever. The straps held firm. Great purchase!
