Red Coloured Elegy Paperback – Illustrated, 20 Feb. 2018

Fragmented and kind of hard to understand at points. There are sometimes stark changes in drawing style but the drawings are constantly interesting and totally beautiful.My favourite scenes were of Ichiro and Sachiko in their apartment, Ichiro drawing Sachiko while she poses, them drawing and flailing around on the floor together.Hayashi seems to be pretty fascinated with drawing his characters writhing around on the floor in distress which I appreciate; on almost every page there is some unconventional pose.The long-winded essay at the back of the book gives some additional context to the manga.
