Q: Can this model be displayed with the hull separated?

Only the old 1/1400 scale (1996) can be assembled separate. That is how I did my 1/1400 scale enterprise D.

Q: Do the decals iclude all the finer details like the azteking?

Except for a few overlays, like the registry numbers, the names, and the Starfleet logos, most of the decals are the azteking.

Q: Is there a lighting kit that you can purchase for this spefic model kit and if so can you give me an asin number to search on?

While I don't light my models, I doubt there was ever a lighting kit released for it, mostly due to the small scale and not really having anything to light (no clear parts and windows are decals). But maybe a creative modeler could manage something with generic LEDs, but it's beyond my knowledge or ability.

Q: Do I really have to use water to get the decals off the paper. This seems very complicated compared to the reviews:/

I don’t know if you have to use water but I always have. Using water is easier then it sounds. You simply cut the paper around the decal you want then soak it in water for a few seconds. Then use tweezers to pull it out and slide it off the paper and on to the ship. The water makes it a little easier because the decal can slide in the water until you are happy with the placement. Then you dry it off.
