A Well Made Look At The Life Of The Kennedy Family
This is a very good series. The creators have obviously done their research for this, as it's pretty historically accurate. The lead Greg Kinnear is an incredible likeness of John F Kennedy in this. They have quoted the good speeches President Kennedy did and played out the important decisions he made. They used the popular idea that Lee Harvey Oswald was Kennedy's assassin (which I don't like). The series gives insight into the Kennedy family like you've never seen before, like what John's father was like and what lead Kennedy to the White House. It's a good drama and I highly recommend it. Whether much of the in's and out's of the family issues shown in this are true to life, I have no idea. But it sure makes it interesting. At the end it makes you really feel what the world lost when those two Kennedy brothers were murdered. Or at least that's how I feel. There is the what if's too. Would Bobby have followed his brother into the White House? Possibly not, but we'll never know.

This is a stunning series originally made for US tv. Greg Kinnear even loks and sounds like JFK with a stellar performance by the always reliable Tom Wilkinson as father to the brothers and sister, Joseph Kennedy a crook who made his millions running booze for the Mobs during prohibition and finished up as US Ambassador to The UK in the late 1930's where the story begins. The story ends on the grassy knoll in Dallas. It is principally about a family haunted by Joe Kennedy's lust for power both for himself and his sons and the tradgedies that befell the Kennedy dynasty and begs the question what would our world be like today had JFK and "Bobby" lived .Compulsive viewing even though most viewers know the outcome.

A real treat
This covers the history of jack and Bobby Kennedy their careers and personal lives played by Greg kinnear and Barry pepper. Not that shocking was Greg kinnear and Katie holmes work well together as they also played a couple in the film (the gift) and katie has the perfect look for jackie. I found this really intersting and it gave me insight into what jack kennedy delt with when he was in the white house. Tom wiklson plays pushy joe kenndey snr and is determined to get his kids to the top.I always knew the Kennedys were apart of history but this really made me want to learn more about them. Although it a tragic story worth watching.

We the people...
The Kennedy's were a complex and proud family; dedicated to public service; and like the rest of us, they had their own feet of clay. Nevertheless, who knows what might have been... America's tragedy was and is a worldwide loss.Interesting to see the result of an honest appraisal - or not - depending on your point of view.Excellent product and service. Delivery prompt. Would buy more from this seller.

A piece of dramatized history
Whether historically correct or not this is definitely worth seeing. The cast is wonderful, especially Barry Pepper has caught the mannerisms of Robert Kennedy. Greg Kinnear really shows John Kennedy not only as president but also as a private person with health issues one cannot even imagine. Katie Holmes is perfect as Jackie Kennedy. I think the series tries to show the Kennedys as real people and not just as heroes or villains.

Worth Watching
I found this very watchable, and enjoyable, if such a sad story can be enjoyable. I thought that Barry Pepper was excellent as Bobby Kennedy. His performance raised the series from being merely watchable to being very good. It brought back long forgotten memories of what a loss Bobby Kennedy was, and how shocked and saddened we all were at his assassination. The scenes of President Kennedy's assassination brought back memories of how we all sat in front of the TV that evening, staring at the BBC globe going round and round and wondering if World War III was about to break out. Everybody thought that it was the USSR. I also remember seeing at the time, pictures of Jacqueline Kennedy with her husband's coffin, at the swearing in of LBJ, still wearing the same suit with an enormous blood stain down the front, and I thought "Surely someone could have found her something else to wear?" She did not appear to be so bloodstained in "The Kennedys", but perhaps they thought it would be too gory.If Shakespeare had still been around, the story of the Kennedys would have surely inspired him to write a play, or series of plays!Anyway, this is well worth watching for Barry Pepper's performance as Bobby Kennedy.
