Q: i am in southeast michigan (zone 6 or 5b, depending on who you ask) - can i plant my baby plants now in july outside? or will they die over winter?

Hardy Kiwi's were actually developed in Michigan. If they have been acclimated to sun exposure and you are confident that sunburn on new plants is not a problem, I believe they may do fine, with enough water. There is a lot of information online about the care of hardy kiwis. Some recommend covering with burlap during the winter to prevent wind burn. I am in east-central Missouri, and mine wintered quite well without cover. I may be about half a "zone" warmer than Michigan. Study up on the available info.

Q: Large grae size is a very small kiwi. That's not medium sized kiwi fruit. Why not just say it's a very small kiwi???

not sure on the question!! A Kiwi plant to me is brown and fuzzy. Those other kinds are a knock off or something I'm not familiar with.

Q: Will this male fertilize other female kiwi varieties like Vincent?

don't know some varietie require male and female plants and others do not may take couple seasons to build up vines prior to bearing fruit

Q: could i buy these in the fall and keep indoors until spring?

Yes, but you can also go ahead and plant outside. they are hardy to most planting zones in the US, and still have time to get their roots established so, I would go ahead and put them in the ground. Would not leave them as they come in a little 4 inch pot. They dry out too quickly to be stored that way. If you do keep them indoors, repot to a much larger container. Hope this helps!
