Problematic Recipes and Definition of Sugar
I had been looking forward to trying the recipes in this book, having previously bought the eight week program book. Unfortunately I found the recipes in this one hit-or-miss, and mostly misses. I am not new to cooking, and have successfully used a slow cooker on many occasions. In this collection I had to wonder if the recipes had been tested. The biggest problem I had was with the cooking times. Countless dried out proteins with thin fatty broths. I used the low setting and checked well in advance of the end cooking time, but it happened more than once. The desserts are especially problematic. I found that they dried out as well (brownies were dry around the edges with a sticky greasy middle) and the level of sweetener needs major adjustment. I understand the author leans to the bitter side, but in a cookbook for those trying to lessen or quit sugar, some adjustments and alternatives could easily have been made. Read the reviews on the authors chocolate book. On a few occasions I threw unsalvageable food away, and that's unforgivable. Last night a 16 GBP cut of beef went in the bin along with the book. On reflection the whole IQS seems faddish. Lots of image and branding, and now it turns out that the author has shut the whole thing down, leaving a void for those considering the program. A program that should have been called "I Quit Refined Sugar."That is another issue to consider - how you personally define sugar. If you are only interested in cutting out refined ones, this might be a resource. If you are leaning more toward a low carb or ketogenic approach, please do your research. The use of both rice malt syrup and a myriad of high sugar and starchy fruits & veg might be unwelcome. If you want to quit sugar there are so many free resources including recipes out there.

Great idea, strange & unsatisfying outcomes
Really wanted healthy tasty crockpot slow cooker recipes for family with young kids. This one had a lot of promise, but the results were mediocre at best. Pulled pork was good, but the sausage and mash cheat was inedible, sausages dont taste the same in a slow cooker. The potatoes, celery and carrots sit in this stock and when you mash them they become a watery brown gloop. Needless to say no one was impressed. Waste of time and money.

Lovely recipes to try, if you don’t already have her books!
It’s alright, but most of these recipes are already featured in ‘simplicious’ so if you already have that book, no need to get this one!

Love this book!
I have all the other IQS books and quite frankly i love them all. What i was missing was slow cooking which is handy for the hours i work. I have tried a few of the recipes and they've come out brilliant. I thoroughly enjoyed this book and the teachings along the way about different cuts of meat etc

Sugar free but I don't care for the alternative
Rice Malt Syrup is used as a replacement for sugar - having read about it, I don't fancy using it on a regular basis
