Good modern version I bought two of these. Good price. They make excellent gifts for a younger reader. Review: This is a fantastic reference Bible. Make Bible study easier and more enjoyable. - As a Reference Bible, this is great. This Bible was purchased to replace my last Rainbow Study Bible, which was accidentally destroyed when Tea was spilled on it. This updated version is even better in format than the last. Every page has a listing of what the colors stand for, so that is one less thing to look up or memorize. There are 12 themes in the study listed, they are: 1. God 2. Salvation 3. Sin, 4. Evil 5. Love 6. Family 7. Prophecy 8. History 9. Discipleship 10. Commandments 11. Faith 12. Outreach Having these ideas as I read the Bible makes it easier to understand what is being said and how it relates to me. This also makes it easier to organize teaching as well. YES, I do highly recommend this Translation. It is both accurate and readable. Let’s talk about the translations of the Bible. My first personal Bible was the King James Version. Everyone my age has read that version and many people are divided about it. I personally never liked studying Shakespeare and the KJV is that same language. Many people who hated reading Shakespeare’s works in HS, swear by this translation of the bible. Then I received The Living Bible. I loved this translation because it is so easy to read. It was translated into English that was and is spoken today. Reading was easy and comfortable. The only problem was that it is Paraphrased, so it is not a completely accurate (word-for-word) translation. A bonus is that the church we go to uses this Bible. Of course, a physical Bible is heavy and not as easy to use as one on an e-reader. So I purchased the New American Standard Bible (NASB) for my Kindle. This is a very accurate Translation and easy to read. I am happy with this version and use it often. But there are so many others and I had to check them out. The Holy Bible, English Standard Version (with Cross-References): Old and New Testaments. This is possibly the best word-for-word translation. The features that make it great are jumping to verses that are related to the study you are doing. It works well on my latest version of Kindle. The Christian Standard Bible is available on Kindle or hard copy. According to the forward (from Holman Publishing Group}, two of the goals for making this version are: 1. Provide English-speaking people worldwide with an accurate translation in contemporary English. 2. Provide an accurate translation for personal study, sermon preparation, private devotions, and memorization. This translation seems to do that well.

Successful Christmas gift
I purchased this, while looking for another Bible for myself, but it called to me for my Aunt as well. She has other Bibles but without knowing her preferred translation type I was a little nervous buying such a personal gift. She saw CSV on the cover & said, "That's all I need." :) After having her open it up & showing her why it's called the rainbow Bible she was really intrigued with the color labeling aspect & appreciated the maps, both at the end (as is somewhat typical in most Bibles) but that they're found throughout in passages as well. I reassured her that if she truly didn't like it I would be more than happy to exchange it for one that she would, but she insisted that this was perfect & she was excited to get into reading with it. (My Mom also said she repeated the same to her the next morning after Christmas Eve as well). So I went in to purchase this for myself & ended up finding the perfect gift for my Aunt who seems quite happy with it. I'm looking forward to buying one for myself still as well. The books themselves are made with seemingly very nice quality, the spines nice & tight, strong hardback, good quality paper (thin of course since it's a Bible but a bit thicker for the end map pages) & just overall is pretty to look at with all of its beautiful COLORS. I do wish it would have come with a box for safe keeping, but since it's a hardback I figure that's why they didn't? Plus the price point (I did get it on sale though) is much lower than say a leather-like Bible, so that's also probably why it doesn't come with one & is just a personal preference. If you're hesitating on buying it, don't. It's beautiful & I feel will really hope those of us that struggle with understanding the word, or just need some more guidance maybe in connecting to the context of some of the language.

I love the way you can go from subject to subject folks the colors
If you want to read about certain topics easily all you have to do is follow the color coding and you will be rewarded with a Bible study quickly and easily. A super great way to become a Bible student with almost no stress. You will love this Bible. And the interpretation is very, very good. Not “off the wall” just very well done. It is The Word of God in a easily understood interpretation.

Great bible for people that like to study
Great bible. Love the rainbow organization

Great for those just learning about the Bible
If you are looking for a study Bible to learn more about God, then this is the book for you. It is color-coded to help you learn what the passage is about. It has maps and other things in it that are really helpful. The only downfall is that the footnotes and all are a little small.

Good source
I have autism and I have trouble reading normal Bibles. This one has made it easier for me to identify and understand what I do read. The only suggestion I would have is some of the colors are close to others and maybe change those colors to something on the opposite side of the color spectrum but other than that, it’s a really good Bible for somebody that has trouble
