ok, fun phaser, but not true bypass
Interesting to see my first review which Amazon had approved before has been removed. Not sure why. It's an honest review. If you think it's unfair then feel free to send me a better one to review if mine is a dud and I'll happily edit my comments. This is an interesting little pedal. Bought as an impulse buy alongside the mooer orange 90. I got it to see if it would do something different (after all Amoon's version of the classic MXR clone is the AP-03 https://www.amazon.co.uk/ammoon®-Vintage-Phaser-Guitar-Effect/dp/B01A89FOLM). It is not a classic phaser - don't get it if that's what you want. What it is is more asymmetrical and the extra controls let you take it to some different places that are more out-there. I really like it for that. Mine is NOT true bypass - you can hear it carrying on in the background admittedly faintly, but the signal is there if you dial-up the gain, even if it disengaged. This is particularly noticeable in the higher frequency range. You might want to noise-gate it or stick it in a separate channel after a line select or similar to deal with that if your unit has the same issue. Switching is a bit noisy too - audible clicks, not silent switching. Kind of expected for this price though. Mine came with a velvet pouch. Nice touch but not much use once it's on the pedal board. To mount note this has a sizeable (thick) rubber base and you can't reverse it (not enough room inside the chassis) so you'll need to velcro to the rubber or run the velcro past it and round up the sides to get a good bond.Chassis itself is solid and will last well - build quality is good and pots are smooth. Metallic tops can be difficult to see the position in certain lighting - the curse of pulsing stage lights and dim monitor boards right?I'm glad I got it, and would buy it again given the price. Just a shame it isn't true bypass.
