Great measurement instrument at an economical price. A good tool in our case to set differential backlash.

I’m used to using expensive indicators as part of my work so I was a little skeptical when I first bought this. Sure it may not be as accurate or smooth as a high dollar dial indicator but it’s a great value. The magnetic base is solid when mounted on a good ferrous surface. Arms are sturdy and the clamps hold well. I used it to measure the runout of the crankshaft on my 2 stroke bike. Measurements were repeatable within a degree of accuracy that I was more than happy with for the price. All in all it works well and is easy to use.

Great product for the price point. I bet the Mag Base is the same as Harbor Freight, as I used theirs once and returned, because I could obtain the dial indicator as well, and the plastic carry case. The Mag Base is quite good as I used it on curvature of an axle tube, and on the cover housing to measure backlash and run out of the ring gear. Unfortunately, others are correct about the dial indicator jamming at some point in its travel, and not always in the same place. I was able to use it accurately as I was only looking for less than 20 thousandths (0.020) movement. If you need the full travel, I'm quite sure it will jam at some point. As I inspected it, I was able to free it up with force on the plunger, but then it would stick again after a few cycles of travel (and as mentioned not always in the same location). Yes, the plastic case was cracked at one place internally, but not significant to matter. I have to admit, trying to get the tools to fit back into the case and have it close properly, was quite the challenge! Patience is a virtue.

Has worked beautifully every time I’ve used it. Magnet is very strong. Good product.

Macht, was es soll – die Verarbeitung ist für den Preis sehr, sehr gut. Über die absolute Genauigkeit kann ich nichts sagen. Benutzt habe ich es, um den tiefsten Punkt der Pumpe-Düse-Elemente zu bestimmen. Alle Schrauben und Einbauteile waren dabei, nichts verrostet, alles ordentlich verpackt. Die Messuhr ist absolut tauglich – nichts klemmt. Der Haltemagnet funktioniert einwandfrei und hält ordentlich! Für einfache Arbeiten absolut empfehlenswert: günstig wie bei Temu, Versand schneller als die Polizei erlaubt! Was will man mehr? Bestimmt taugt es auch für präzisere Arbeiten.

Bonjour , je voudrai rectifier ma critique . je me suis aperçu que mon indicateur a pris de la poussière et après nettoyage il fonctionne.

I’m surprised that for this price, you get a full kit with decent quality. I mean you really can’t complain at all for the price. I used it to adjust the wheel bearing play on a Mercedes which is supposed to be between 0.01 and 0.02 mm. It worked just fine but you do need to press the indicator slightly to apply some tension on the internal spring for more accurate readings.
