Tastes great
This Heavy Cream powder is really good. It tastes good and I use it sometimes in my coffee as it's a little pricey to use every day. It's very shelf stable unopened and is good to last a long time. I mix it with water to use in all recipes that call for heavy cream and can't tell the difference in that and fresh cream. It can clump some, so I stir it with a whisk or a milk frother ( use a deeper container when using a frother - it will splash out otherwise.)

Good substitute for those looking for a shelf stable version of heavy cream for their coffee
I purchased this product first and foremost for my coffee as a shelf stable alternative to refrigerated heavy cream and also for cooking and baking. As a former school trained chef I am particular in my tastes but in all honesty I was not expecting this to taste like fresh heavy cream. After reading the review about lumps, I took the advice of others and mixed about a teaspoon of hot coffee in the cup before adding the rest. It took a while to dissolve all the lumps with stirring...a slight annoyance but not enough to discontinue using the product. Even with all the stirring, a few small lumps were floating on the top when I added the rest of the coffee. A teaspoon of the powder gave me the right color for my coffee. The mouth feel was spot on for heavy cream and I spent the rest of the time finishing my cup trying to decide if I could tell the difference from the two. As others had commented, I did notice a grittiness at the very end of the cup, the last tablespoon or so. I decided to make my next cup with fresh heavy cream to see the difference. I added about a tablespoon of fresh heavy cream to my cup. Same color, same appearance. Mouth feel was the same but there was a definite difference in the taste, not sweeter but the dairy flavor I picked up with the fresh cream was most likely due to the milk sugars. That being said all in all I think this is a good product for those looking for a shelf stable alternative to heavy cream for their coffee. The flavor was close enough that I needed to make a cup with fresh cream to taste the difference. One star removed for the grittiness at the end and the lumps that take a lot of stirring to remove. I will purchase this product again.

Great addition to my pantry, and my cooking.
Used in a number of recipes already. Blends in well. Helps to make flavors richer, and the consistency a bit thicker.I LOVE that it will not expire quickly. The amount of the product is really good too. So glad I got it.

My taste test of four main brands of Heavy Cream Powder
I ordered the four main brands of heavy cream powder I could find, mixed all and did a taste test straight, as well as mixed with my favorite powdered milk (Peak) to create a "half and half". In order from best to worst these were my preference:1. Judee's Heavy Cream Powder - closest to the mild sweet taste of fresh cream2. Anthony's Heavy Cream Powder - reminds me of raw grass fed cream and milk I've gotten from a co-op - has a grassy cow-y taste that I am not a fan of, even if it's actually more natural. Once mixed with powdered milk that farm taste is less pronounced and the two come together well enough to create a fair approximation of fresh full cream milk. If I hadn't tried Judee's I'd probably settle for this one, but since Judee's is much better, I dumped it.3. WillPowder Heavy Cream Powder - my first taste hit me with a strong industrial refrigerant or walk-in freezer taste - if you've ever had desserts from a restaurant stored too long in their display case so the cream picked up that distinctive refrigerated smell that your own fridge doesn't have, or if you've ever noticed that smell in a restaurant's walk in freezer - that is what this tastes like. I thought maybe after it was mixed and settled overnight or even two days it might dissipate, but it did not. The texture is fine but the taste is not. I dumped it.4. Hoosier Hill Farm Heavy Cream Powder - an odd unpleasant taste. Nothing like cream. Surprising, because I like other Hoosier Hill Farm products. Dumped it.

Not what I was hoping for
After reading the reviews, I thought I would try this product. I bought a frother, as all the reviews pointed to the importance for mixing. I made my first batch with my purified R/O water, and even warmed it up in the Microwave. It blended well and I used more powder than I thought I would, but I was looking for a rich taste and not watery. It did thicken up a bit, but the taste just was not what I expected. I added a little salt that helped just a bit, and then figured it would be better after a night in the refrigerator. In the morning I used it with my rich coffee and it did not look as creamy by a long shot as regular half and half like I am use to. I added some more, more than I would with half and half, and it just does not taste or look like what I am use to. I did have to shake it up first, and it had a little bit of granular texture even after sitting overnight in the refrigerator. I was actually disappointed, since I have had success with using powdered cheese in the past. If you are thinking this will save you money, I don't think you will. I tasted it as a powder, and it just doesn't taste that great. Nice container, nice powder consistency, nice price, but I am going to go back to the real thing. In conclusion, it probably tastes kinda like the powder cream that comes in packets in hotels. Perhaps it is great if you want zero or low fat in your coffee cream. You don't know unless you try it, so I did. I will not be buying this again.
