We have a coconut allergy in our house. This is coconut free, does an amazing job and doesn’t have a strong smell. I have ordered this several times.

Scent Is Overwhelming
I am a huge fan of trying new beauty products and this looked so different than most of what I use so I was all in. Right off the bat this was a shampoo in a jar. I have tried hair masks that were in jars but never a full shampoo. Another new feature of this shampoo was that there was a grit to it in the form of salt. I have used salt and sugar scrubs on my body as an exfoliant but never on my scalp. I have very oily hair and my scalp itches all the time so I was thinking that exfoliating my scalp would really help.I was not disappointed. My scalp feels great as long as I use it every other day or so. The salt is just rough enough to really clean my scalp but not so rough that it hurts. I will say it is a little rough to get it all the way down to the scalp with the shampoo as it is much thicker more like a conditioner. It is also in a jar so you will have to scoop it out with your fingers. I personally like using a silicone scalp brush to ensure it gets all the way in. After using the shampoo my scalp definitely feels great and my hair looks clean for days. I am really pleased with those things.Unfortunately there are a few things I don't love. First off the price is pretty high but again beauty items are on the rise so that isn't the end of the world. The scent however is. While the scent is pleasant it is beyond overwhelming. I personally had 4 different people ask me if I was wearing perfume at work. The catch I showed at 8 pm on Thursday night and didn't see them until 3 pm on Friday. That is way to long for my hair to smell that long especially when they are only smelling me in passing as we all work on our feet walking around. I imagine this would easily trigger people who have scent based allergies or anyone with major asthma. For that reason if you have anyone in your life like that I wouldn't even consider buying it. Also the scent is pretty overwhelming to the person who is using it and I could imagine it leading to headaches or more. While I do love how my hair looks and feels I absolutely wouldn't recommend this based on the scent.

Scalp scrub shampoo in a jar
I can honestly say that I've never tried another product like this. It's like a scalp treatment and a clarifying shampoo combined, and it comes in a jar like some hair masks do. But, see, in my experience, here's the thing about products that try to be and do all kinds of different things at once: rarely do they do any one thing particularly well.I kind of feel like that's what's going on here. As a scalp treatment, it's OK. As a shampoo, it's OK. As a clarifying shampoo...it just didn't cut it for me. And if you've ever tried to open a jar with wet hands in the shower, you know why that's a suboptimal packaging choice. Also, it smells very strongly of roses. How you feel about that depends on how much you like rose-scented products, I suppose. I'm not much of a fan, myself. My primary interest in this product was as a clarifying shampoo. I have naturally wavy hair that needs a lot of styling products to look nice. I use a clarifying shampoo every other wash to cut through the grease and break down the products. As a clarifier, this just isn't strong enough for me. It was quite nice as a regular shampoo, however. The sea salt scalp scrub aspect I really do like. It didn't make my scalp tingly at all as some similar products do. But the little salt bits have a nice exfoliating effect. At this price point ($44 as of this review date), I think I would prefer to keep it for occasional use as a scalp treatment, rather than a clarifying shampoo. That way, I'll use less and make it last longer.I'm conflicted as to whether I like this enough to recommend it. It's such a strange mix of things. I will say this: overall, I believe this to be a good product. Maybe not great, but definitely good. Especially as a scalp scrub. I quite like it for that.

Best clarifying shampoo
The media could not be loaded. The elvis+elvin Purifying Shampoo is the very best clarifying shampoo. The video is intended to showcase this extraordinary product featuring Dead Sea salt. Notice the incredibly rich texture and pure white color of this unique shampoo. Wow! elvis+elvin Purifying Shampoo nourishes hair and scalp while completely cleaning hair of residue; use every so often to repair, soften and highlight hair like never before. There’s simply no other shampoo like elvis+elvin Purifying Shampoo. I like that.I believe elvis+elvin’s excellent Purifying Shampoo deserves the highest recommendation possible.

The scent is too strong
PROS: Cleans hair and clears away scalp buildup. Doesn't strip hair, but removes excessive oils. Lathers up nicely so you only need a small amount. Exfoliants are gently but effective. You won't have large chunks of salt stuck in your hair. Once I dry my hair, its lifted at the roots and feels amazingly soft and silky. I can't stop running my ringers through my hair at the roots and tossing it to the side. I tend to have oily scalp and get buildup due to oils and dry shampoo.CONS: THE SCENT! Listen, I love the smell of roses but this formula is more equivalent to a rose perfume than a hair product. Its overpowering and lingers for days. It stays in the shower and on your hair. While I enjoyed the rose scent in my shower and bathroom, on my hair, not so much.At the time of this review product was $44. I find the price to be fair compared to other products. I personally wouldn't order again due to the fragrance being too strong for my preference.
