Lady and the Tramp [DVD]

As far as I can make out, there's no significant difference in picture quality (standard and widescreen) or sound between this UK single disk import and the Two-Disc 50th Anniversary Platinum Edition. Access to individual Bonus items remains confusing and difficult to maneuver, but you eventually get the hang of it. These wonderful extras are in the heart of appreciating and enjoying what I consider as Walt Disney's all-time masterpiece.

Possibly one of the best of the Disney classics. I was a bit surprised at the aspect ratio being 2.55:1 (although I would have known had I read the product description) when all the previous Disney classic Blu-rays I've purchased were 1.33:1. In looking around it seems that is the standard aspect ratio for this movie but it's odd to get a 1080p Blu-ray movie that displays on my HD TV with the large bars at the top and bottom. Maybe this movie is just a lot wider than the others?

This is the second video I ordered. The DVD will not play in the United States (USA). If you place it in a computer, it tells you it can be played in Russia, China, South Korea, Venezuela, and other countries.

We love this movie!! I'm not a movie-geek so I can't give a better review than this, sorry haha. I don't know about aspect ratio and pixels and hours of special features and yadda yadda. This is an adorable story that I grew up with, and the quality of the discs/movie looks great to me and my kids. Would repurchase.

This is a Christmas gift for a 7 year-old little girl. I remember very little about this movie at present (I was a young girl when I last saw this film), so I had to read the reviews to refresh my memory. I am hopeful that this gift will bring joy and fond memories for this intended little angel girl.

Was nervous buying my first import DVD, but I had no problem. It was an obvious copy and there was no booklet or download code, but the film works. It was all I was worried about.

Such a beautiful Disney film. Highly recommend and suitable for all ages.

Although it can be argued that Lady and The Tramp is hardly exciting when compared to other Disney movies such as The Jungle Book and The Lion King I think it has faired well over time and still remains a classic love story. I absolutely loved it as a child and I'm thrilled to say I enjoyed it just as much when watching it again on Blu-ray. The animation is fantastic - the colours are crisp, the characters pop from the screen and there's an abundance of bonus features to keep fans happy. There's an introduction by Diane Miller, deleted scenes, a never-seen-before song as well as the classic dvd bonus features. The story itself is simple but incredibly cute and follows the life of Lady, the pampered spaniel from the uptown neighbourhood as she meets Tramp, the street-smart mongrel from the other side of the tracks. Personally, I think the success of the film is attributed to the immense likability of the characters, such as Lady's friend Jock and the siamese cats, rather than the storyline as it might be too basic for some peoples tastes but I imagine any Disney fan will enjoy it for what it is. This is a classic film and a beautiful tale of friendship and love so it's great to see it on Diamond Edition Blu-ray at last. My only complaint is that Disney are no longer releasing Double-Play feature packs so if you want a DVD copy as well you will have to make an additional purchase.
