Good little drive, Doesn't overheat.
Seems like a great little flash drive. Fast, tiny, and I haven't seen many overheating issues like with most small USB 3.0 drives. I won't post the benchmarks here, but you can see a screenshot of the results at the end of this review. During the 16GB test, the drive did heat up during the sequential read/write section. From touch, I would estimate the temperature of the drive to be about 45C during that section. For electronics, I consider this to be warm, but by no means anything I should be concerned about. I would say that it throttled, though. During the first test, which was a 4GB test, the write speeds were very high; 78MB/s. But in the longer test, this was much lower at 31MB/s. I consider this to be a good thing, as I'd rather have my drive last longer than be fast and overheat. Full benchmarks in the photo section. Also, I really liked the packaging. It was very easy to open, as it was just perforated cardboard on the back of the packaging. I have a picture of this posted. I found a key ring to put on it, and yes, it has to be a thin one or else the ring will be a bit tight, but the one I found works just fine with this drive. For the price, this is a really solid drive. If anything happens in the future, I'll post it below here.

A fast, small & efficient flash drive.
Older USB storage is woefully outrun by this small key-chain-able drive. The three attributes I was looking for: Sturdy: I can throw in the briefcase / purse and not worry about bending, breaking, or getting pulled off the keychain. The construction is completely of metal and is the size of the USB plug itself. There is nothing exposed to get hurt while living on your keychain (though I'd gather dunking it in water may compromise its utility). Size: I carry this everywhere so I have access to all of my files around campus. It is smaller than my keys and is exceptionally light weight. Unlike the previous USB drive, this one IS so small it does not feel like it is there getting in the way of my keys when I'm fumbling at my office door. Performance: I show some youtube clips for class and some of them are quite large. I only have 50 minutes for class and don't want to be waiting for a video to load. Also, there are times when I've found the perfect example of X or Y just before class and have 2 minutes to move 125mb from my computer to the drive. The previous drive would take 4-5 minutes (yep that one was old!). This drive accepts 125mb in a matter of seconds. As for the amount of space, I have yet to fill up the 16gb from the previous drive, so I stuck with the 16gb as the price point was just right. I'd highly recommend this drive. It does not come with any metal keychain loops and the hoop through which you attach it to your key ring is somewhat small so you may wish to invest in a tiny keyring to attach it to your larger loop.

extremely small and good
I have a few of these. They are fast, extremely small and good. Its about double the length of a small blue tooth device for wireless keyboards and mouses. I have had no problems with them besides the extremely small size and extra width giving some problems pulling out of some computers and laptops. Its a bit on the wide side to make a very tight connection (good thing) but gets scratched up real easy on newer laptops when pulling it out (the metal gets scratched). On usb hubs and front usb ports on PC's its normally good and does not get scratched. Depends on the port and what you plug it into. I bring this up because none of my flash drives have ever given me a problem like this before when pulling them out. Since this is a very small device there is not much to hold onto so for some gripping it to pull out may be an issue. Putting it on a car key-chain would really be the only reason to buy this for the end part to go around the metal ring where your keys go. Most 128gb flash drives are just 4 or 5 dollars more, that's double the memory capacity size for the same quality or even better quality. You are basically just paying for the end round thing and the small size to put on key-chains. It gets caught in the wrong direction now and then on the ring but its the smallest light weight option you have to date Over all its great and I love it even if its slightly over priced at this current time. For a car key-chain to always have usb tech with you its great.

Small, reliable, and indestructible
I am an IT professional, and I keep this flash drive on my keychain at all times. I previously owned an older USB 2.0 and 32GB version of this flash drive, and decided to upgrade, as I really like the form factor and build quality of this product. It's really small, and very convenient to keep in a pocket. I actually use zip ties to hold it to a clasp on my keyring. You may need to get inventive to attach it somewhere where you won't lose it. PROS: - Very small and sturdy. The product description claims that it is waterproof, but luckily I've not yet had to put this to the test. Compared to plastic flash drives however, this is practically indestructible. - So far it has been very reliable. I have not experienced any data loss. - Decent read / write speeds when using USB 3.1. CONS: - Can get somewhat hot during heavy use. - The metal on the USB port has started to bend inwards and deform after about a year of riding in my pocket, but not enough to cause functional issues.

Excedes Expectations, +Project Suggestion
Fantastic drive worth every penny. I was surprised when I first saw the price when considering purchasing, then later surprised again by the build quality and R/W speed. Build: The product is very durable and has held up to over 2 years of abuse on my keychain. Performance: The read/write speed on this drive is great, considerably faster than any USB 2.0 device. I do freelance design, and I use this regularly for large file-drops to or from clients. It's nice not having to wait around for the transfer to complete. Fun Experiment: I recently bought two more of these drives and configured them as a RAID 0 partition to get a little more speed, works like a charm(doubles performance) and has been recognized by every computer I've plugged it into. A 64GB+ drive with R/W ~ 300/200 that fits in your pocket for ~$30? Just try it. NOTE: there is room for error with RAID 0, so make sure you have a back-up of whatever you're putting onto the setup. Con(but not really): This thing is tiny, it went missing on a couple occasions when not on my keychain. Definitely attach it to something like your keys or a lanyard if you don't want to loose it.

Mid-pack performance, poor design for a keyring
The Transcend JetFlash 710S offers decent performance, and doesn't get too hot, but it's poorly designed for use on a keychain. The end with the opening is inexplicably bent upward which prevents it from laying anywhere close to flat against a typical key on a keyring. It's not as bad as the much larger Samsung 64GB USB 3.0 Flash Drive (MUF-64BA/AM) but still awkward. The performance, as you can see in the attached screenshot montage, was mid-pack with relatively slow read speeds around 87 MB/s but decent write speeds around 71 MB/s. The Samsung 64GB USB 3.0 Flash Drive Fit (MUF-64BB/AM) offers much better performance but won't fit securely on a keyring. The Kingston Digital Kingston Digital 64GB DTMicro USB 3.1/3.0 Type-A Metal Ultra-Compact Flash Drive (DTMC3/64GB) (DTMC3/64GB) works better on a keychain but has horrible write performance. And the SanDisk Ultra Fit 64GB USB 3.0 Flash Drive (SDCZ43-064G-GAM46) [Newest Version ] doesn't offer anything worthwhile unless you value its ability to perhaps melt the USB port in your computer it gets so hot. So, in summary, if you don't need it on a keyring, get the Samsung Fit instead. If you do want it on a keyring, and can live with really slow write performance, consider the Kingston instead. Otherwise keep looking. For the geeks out there, I did all the testing on a motherboard USB 3.0 port (not a hub) on a fast i7/SSD desktop system with nothing else running or sharing USB 3 resources.

Great low-profile option for Tesla Sentry-cam storage drive
Transcend 32GB JetFlash 710 USB 3.1/3.0 Flash Drive: $10.99 at the time of review I was an early adopter of the Model 3 electric car from Tesla. I pre-ordered mine the very first day I could and waited a couple of years for delivery. And you know what? I LOVE it! It was worth every minute of wait and penny of the price. After a little while Tesla enabled the built in cameras to be used as a dash cam to protect you while you drive. But in order to use it, you have to plug a USB drive in to store the video files. I chose this drive because it is tiny. I didn’t want the drive I used to stick out too much for fear that something in that compartment would get stuck on it and break it. Well, I got what I asked for. This little fella is *tiny* *What I liked*: As I just mentioned, it fit my desire for a tiny little drive that didn’t take up too much room. It only stuck out like ⅔ of an inch! It worked perfectly for my needs. I just stuck it in the USB port and the car recognized it, formatted it, and started to record to it on my first drive after install. *What I didn't like*: Honestly, the only thing I didn’t like about it was the storage capacity, and that’s not its fault. As it turns out I should have just bought the 64GB version. *The Bottom Line:* This is great drive to record videos to in a Tesla. It’s also tiny enough that if you wanted to keep it on your keychain to have a portable drive, you wouldn’t even notice it’s there. For just over $10 bucks (or just under $15 for the 64GB version), this is a total five stars out of five. I’d definitely buy it over again.

Works great in my car stereo
Works exactly like it's supposed to. I use it for the stereo in my car. It gets very hot, but that's normal for a flash drive. It does not get 'melt the dashboard around it' hot. And it's very small so it' not in the way at all. It sticks out less than a half inch from the USB port. Just to make sure a had a good one and neither a defective unit or a fake capacity drive, I tested it using a utility called H2testW. You can download this utility after a quick google search. What it does is writes single bit data to the disk in 1 GB file increments to totally fill the disk to capacity. Then it reads that data back to make sure the data isn't corrupted or missing. This lets you know if someone has taken a smaller 4GB disk and slapped a 16GB label on it and hacked the control chip so it looks like a 16GB drive when it's actually 4GB. This is much more of a threat with larger capacity drives like 128GB and up, but it's always worth checking anyway just to know for your you have a real 16GB working device. See the screen shot below of the readout from that test. In that testing this drive had sustained write speeds of about 13 MB per second and sustained read speeds of about 73 MB per second. This test was run in a USB 3.0 port. While the 13 MD per second write speed isn't Earth shattering by any means, it's good enough to write songs to the disk one time to be left in the car. The 73 MB per second read speeds far exceed anything you'd ever come close to needing for MP3 playback, even at higher bit rate encoding. UPDATE I have now bought the 16GB and the 32 GB versions of this and they both work great and have tested as authentic.
