Great Northern 20 Degree 4 Step Swing-up Dock Ladder - Heavy Duty Wall Welded Aluminum

I have used this ladder for about a mouth and this has been my experience with this product.Pros:Excellent sturdy construction. Installation to my wooden dock was easy, as long I as did it in the water. The angle of the ladder makes entering and existing the water much easier that a straight up and down ladder. The ladder steps are comfortable. The hand rails on the dock are sturdy and at a good height for addition safety.Cons:The only issue I have is getting the ladder into and out of the water.To lift the ladder out of the water, the instructions indicate the holding pins can be retracted and slightly twisted to hold them in place to unlock the ladder. The ladder I received has different pins than shown. They are button head pins are hard to retract and have no play in them that allows to be held in place while retracted. I found it difficult to retract both pins at the same time while lifting the ladder.During assembly, the pins are aligned to the ladder by slots were the bolts attach to the hand rails In order to keep the pin alignment, these bolts must be tighten. Tightening these bolts makes the ladder harder to move, even though there are washers helping the situation.For me the issues I found are minor but they are a concern, that is why I gave it four stars.Overall the ladder exceeded my expectations.

AN EXCELLENT ADDITION TO OUR DOCK, ESPECIALLY HELPFUL FOR SENIOR SWIMMERS AS THE STAIRS ALLOW GRADUAL AND NATURAL MOVES UPWARDS. It takes some figuring out how to mount on a wooden dock but once in place it is strong and does return to lie horizontal on the dock with a rope attached to the foot. Yes, I would buy and use one again! Well engineered and built in MAINE!

This ladder is very heavy duty. You will not go wrong purchasing this. Mounts easily and all hardware included...

You have to be able to pull the pins on the sides to raise the ladder. We ended up drilling some screws at the ends to make it easier to pull the pins. Seems a flaw in the design but overall, I'm happy with the product.
