Works Great So Far
05/26/2025: Giving my initial review of the Roborock Saros 10r and will update. In my home we have medium pile carpet, hardwood and tile floors as well as rugs across two levels. This includes thresholds of varying heights... some tall enough to really stub your toe.FYI: The package does not include the floor cleaning solution, so you will need to purchase that separately for the purposes of mopping. My Roborock Saros 10r arrived on 05/21/2025, so at this point I've had it 5 days and my intent is to really put this through its paces while I'm still able to return it.Packaging from Amazon & Roborock was great and it arrived in pristine condition.Device setup was easy and the instructions were clear enough that I had no issues. One thing I would highly suggest during setup, since this device must be connected to wifi, put it on either a different wifi network (I have an IoT network that can't connect to devices on my "normal" network with laptops/computers/phones/tablets) or if your router doesn't support that it may have a "Guest" network you can add it to. No matter how much or how little you pay for your Smart Home/IoT devices just keep in mind that they can become threats to your devices, their security and your privacy if that device or company becomes compromised. This is a small bit of protection, but worth it.Speaking of privacy, this device has a built-in voice assistant. I have not activated it and have no intent to do so. Since it was not activated, my understanding is that this prevents it from listening at all. Additionally this device uses cameras to help navigate obstacles in addition to lidar. Not much you can do about this, but there is a feature where you can enable the camera remotely and drive the Saros 10r around your home to view things. I have not enabled this or used this feature. My understanding with this feature is that if you don’t enable it then the potential for that feature to be exploited (someone else looking through the camera) is greatly reduced. The account set up in the app was simple, just make sure you use a strong password that is unique (not used by any of your other accounts). The app works well, but settings can be difficult to find. Take time to really explore all of the settings in the app so you get the experience you’re looking for. Out of the box the Saros 10r announces very loudly when it’s cleaning, when it’s returning to charge, etc. The setting to turn the volume down is in the app under Settings > Voice Assistant > Volume. The initial mapping of the main floor of my home was quick and accurate. It identified surfaces accurately as well as the stairs leading to the basement. You can really customize the cleaning behavior in the app, so I wanted max suction for the vacuuming and I wanted it to leave the mopping pads behind and only mop after vacuuming. It navigated the main floor without issue, returned to empty the dust bin as needed and when it was done vacuuming it returned to the base, picked up the mop pads and proceeded to mop the tile and hardwood floors. During the mopping I have it set to return to the base every 15 minutes to clean the mop pads.I was very happy with the job it did with both vacuuming and mopping. Additionally the brush design works great with hair, well human hair at least. We don’t have pets. There are several women with extremely long hair that was a challenge for my Neato Botvac D3 and Roomba J7+ with the brush rollers getting tangled with hair. I’m happy to say that after multiple runs the Saros 10r brushes had zero hair in them. Also, the extending arm for cleaning in corners and along walls seems to work great as well. The mopping was impressive. One of the mop pads extends out to get close to walls and corners which is a nice touch. You can also set many options for mopping in the app such as how much water is used and detecting areas that might need some extra attention. Again, really explore the app to customize the experience you want. The water reservoirs for clean and dirty water are easy to remove, fill and empty. My next test, cleaning on a separate floor of my home. This was easy enough, I was able to move just the robot to the basement. I created a separate map for the basement. There are several high thresholds here and the Saros 10r was able to navigate over them with ease. I didn’t try mopping since I feel like I would need to move the base downstairs to get the best experience. I may do this at some point, but not today. My take away, the Saros 10r is absolutely capable of easily vacuuming at least two floors. The base station seems quite capable, it’s able to empty the dustbin and it’s not too loud. The mop pad washing, cleaning and drying works quite well so far.Overall I’m pleased so far and at this price point… anyone who purchases this should be.I’ve experienced no issues and the device has received two firmware updates.I fully intend to continue heavily using the Saros 10r during my return window and will update this review if I encounter issues.Consumable and replaceable parts are also on my radar. The robot seems to be fairly serviceable and I hope that being able to purchase those parts will be affordable in the future, especially batteries. The base station however I'm not sure about.

Customer Service to the Rescue! The "Cadillac" of Vacuum/Mopping Robots!
UPDATE: Customer service got back to me and they've been great! I think this has been a learning curve for all of us. They do back their products which is great. I have tried a couple robots since I returned mine and man...while they were cheaper and the quality was noticeably worse. I checked out the Dreame X50 and no comparison. It's a lighter robot which affects mopping quality and their roller system does not work with dog hair.I have 3 golden retrievers and it was unable to empty the dust bin. It left clumps of dog hair around the house. And it never fully picked up an area. When I packed up the X50 to return it the dust bag was completely emptied despite using it for over a week! I had to manually empty the dust bin every time on the robot. However the Saros 10R with its unique roller system truly does work! Other robots continually get the rollers plugged. But not with the 10R.Another feature the Saros 10R is superior is the navigational system. It just runs smarter! It doesn't bump into things as it navigates to and from a selected room. I decided to give the Saros 10R another try for it is the Cadillac of vacuum/mopping robots. They have multiple obstacle avoidence settings and I'll leave it on the sensitive setting. I avoiding dog accidents will always be a challenge for any robot. But in sensitive mode is definitely helping!Original Post:Wow stay away from Roborock. At the end I'll include a copy of the email they sent in resolving this and let you be the judge. I had the Saros 10R for less than a week. I loved it and it worked great....until it didn't. We have a small older dog who sometimes makes mistakes. Not often but sometimes. But you'd think with the brand new navigational system that Roborock brags with the Saros 10R it could surely detect pet waste and avoid it? WRONG!It was vacuuming and mopping my kitchen when I got an error message that the rollers were jammed. I turned it over and the bottom was covered with pet waste. I had to take everything apart to clean it including the dust bin. It was terrible. And when I put it back on the dock it would not start. I tried resetting it and nothing.I call customer support but with this being so new they don't know much about It and have to escalate it to their support team. Not once will you receive a call from the support team, only an email. And you would think they'd realize their machine made a mistake and would eagerly try to remedy the issue. But not the case....apparently it's the pets fault for being old and having an accident and not their "sophisticated" navigational system that can't recognize pet waste! They reply that they will only replace this unit one time as a courtesy and won't do it again in the future. Needless to say I informed them they didn't need to give me the courtesy for I returned the unit. I'm going to try the Dreame X50 and hope it works better. Here’s a copy of their email they sent in resolving this issue:“Hi,Thank you for reaching out. We’d like to clarify that the Saros 10R is not advertised as having pet waste avoidance, and typically, damage caused by such incidents is not covered under warranty. However, we have escalated your case to our supervisor, and they have approved a one-time replacement of your damaged device with a brand new unit as a gesture of goodwill. Please note that if a similar situation occurs again, we will not be able to offer the same consideration. We will provide you with a shipping label to return the damaged device. Once we receive the returned unit, we will ship the replacement device to you as soon as possible. If you would like to proceed, kindly provide your full U.S. address, and we’ll get the process started.Best regards,Roborock Support”
