Perfect fit
Little on the expensive side for a small piece of plastic but perfect fit and vacuum now works as before my girlfriend broke it 😂PSA sticking it in some hot water from a kettle for a minute makes it a little bit more pliable for installation.

Vital part for our Dyson!
Having Googled what exactly the part needed was called it was easy to find on Amazon. But beware fitting is very tricky and it seemed that the small pegs (that had broken on our Dyson) would snap off. Finally, after much (fiddly) effort it clicked into place. This, of course, is more a Dyson design issue than anything to do with Amazon.So now out vacuum's extending tool is working again!

Does what its supposed to do
my DC29 wasn't listed for this but it looked the same until I got it and fond that it had two round ends. I filed the catch end square and it works perfectly. Its overpriced. surely only worth a Euro but I couldn't find the correct part let alone a cheaper one

The part fitted my DC34 handheld it was easily fitted.
Arrived quickly, easy to fit . I had kept the spring so didn’t need to replace that.Value for money too.

How To Fit
Not difficult to fit if you go about it the right way. Notice the two small lugs are chamfered on the inside, offer one lug into the hole on the handle, push to that side as far into lug locating hole as you can, then push the other side down and at 45% to opposite side, the chamfer should click it in. If not, do as I did, take a small flat head screwdriver insert between handle and the side you are trying to locate then GENTLY twist so as to widen gap slightly and also to push new button as far as possible into opposite side of appliance. It worked for me no problem, however I take no responsibility for any damaged caused using this method, remember I said GENTLY, the main object is to push button as far in as possible not to widen the gap. Of course locate the spring on the spigot before attempting to fit. Hope this helps.

Yes! It fixed my vacuum!
It’s expensive for what it is, but it’s a genuine Dyson part and it works perfectly. I had to buy the spring separately though. Hopefully this will keep my vacuum working for many more years to come. It’s worth the cost of the replacement parts when you think about it that way. Thank you!!

Perfect fit, but doesn't have the spring
Perfect fit for my DC 34 Animal, but be aware that this is just the switch, it does not have the spring. So make sure you save the original spring from your vacuum or salvage one from a pen or something.

OEM & easy to install
Just got and install on my Dyson DC28 Animal. It took 2 minutes labor in one click. It fits perfect. Tested to open/close for a dosen times, and now I am happy to see it fixed.Please keep in mind that you have to have original spring because it doesn't go with the part. Or buy another "repair kit" which goes with a spring.
