Not great 3D
Not great 3D.It's cheap and plastic. Neither of those things are a problem. But the image quality is low. The 3D is doesn't align well, and that is disappointing.I have had better 3D results with a similarly priced standalone camera.

Best 3D lens out there!
3D is a very tricky art. I've been using this lens for over a year and I've been very satisfied with the results. At first I was mad that there was no zoom on the lens and that my options for f-stop we're 11,16,and 22. But there is a reason behind this and I'm not so mad any more. I've learned the "sweet spot" for shooting stereoscopic and I've learned how to print 3D holograms.....the only thing I haven't learned is how to market 3D portraits to potential clients. You really are going to need some basic photoshop skills in order to peruse 3d. You are taking an image of one object from two different angles onto one sensor, there is going to be a little bit of bleed and you will need to separate the image in two.

Pretty good, considering the price.
I was not impressed when I first held it in my hand. It appeared to be a toy; just a piece of plastic. I decided I should try it before returning it, and as you can see the results are not bad. The instructions are quite complete, but they appear to assume you already know that editing is required for good results. The optics are quite simple and are not coated. Correction and enhancement are essential for best results. If you are not willing to "develop" the images, this unit may not be for you. Based on these results, I promptly ordered the macro lens as well and am waiting for it to arrive.

I was wanting to be able to import the 3d ...
I was wanting to be able to import the 3d photos into my Samsung Glasses for the 3d view. But currently they only view the photos as combination of the images so the 3d affect is lost. I am still working to see if this can be done.

99% plastic
The only thing not plastic on here is the glass/lens. It keeps breaking but hey it was $200 instead of canon’s 200 but also degrades photo quality. Specifically the part where it connects to the camera keeps breaking & it falls off & hits the floor.

Very poor quality. It's cheap plastic
Very poor quality. It's cheap plastic, like a toy. Focusing is nearly impossible, picture quality is poor, and the range of view is so restricted that it's hard to even get anything in the frame. This is absolutely not worth the amount they are charging for it and as someone who keeps hoping that there will one day be an easy and affordable way to produce 3D images, this was a tremendous disappointment. Can't stress enough that it is not worth the purchase.

A solid curiosity lens and fun toy
This is a lens that you must play around to get it right. Once you have it it does work. The camera must be perfectly level, and newer EOS (and EOS-R) cameras have a built in electronic level. I have tried it with an EOS-R and the EF to RF adapter. Make sure, if you have this option, to turn on the SHOOT WITHOUT A LENS setting or your camera will just make you look dumb.

Not for use with 3DTVs
I purchased this hoping to shoot video to playback on my 3DTV, but it is only for use with still images that you need to print and look at using the cardboard viewer that is comes with. If that is what you are looking for then this is the product for you. I really thought $180 would be more useful.
