Conditions and thickens lashes very well
I really like this. It's a base/primer, and it thickens and conditions my lashes very well. Apply it and wait a few moments for it to dry, then apply mascara. I think it protects lashes from the drying effects of the chemicals in mascara and also prevents raccoon eyes from mascara smudge. I'm a big fan!

My mom showed me this eyelash primer and I’ve used it now for years. It really helps my mascara pop when use it underneath.

Not the Cover Girl primer I remember
In the late 1980s or early 1990s, Cover Girl had the only CG product I would ever repurchase again and again. It was PERFECT and I raved about it...so good that I still want it and tried this one in hope. In comparison, this product is subpar. I will throw it away after one use it is so bad. The product that I was looking for was almost like a setting primer. It dried fairly stiff so that my very short lashes could be curled with a lash curler and STAY CURLED even after I put mascara on them. THAT product was incredible. This ain't it. This product stays soft and smells strongly of chemicals and does not keep my lashes curled AT ALL. My hope was dashed fairly quickly and I will continue to put the old product in my top 3 beauty products of all time. My short straight lashes remain short and straight and my search continues for a primer that dries stiff and holds a curl.
