I used to just get hay at the pet store for my rabbits, but they've always been picky about hay and never liked it when it was hard, green, and stiff. They will throw more than half of it in their litter box and we just throw it away when I have to give them that. I used to get it soft like 2nd-3rd cut half the time, and half the time it was the hard green stuff but recently, they stopped selling anything else aside from first cut it seems. The brand I bought didn't sell other cuts, so I don't know what happened or why the hay just stopped being soft ever, but it became a real problem, because I was spending a lot of money on hay, and my bunnies wouldn't even eat the majority of it. I was a little worried when I read the reviews and saw that a lot of people said the larger sizes weren't any good, because I definitely needed a larger size, but for the price I figured it was still worth it to try. I paid the same amount for 20 lbs of this that I would spend on 5lbs of the hay they don't eat. It was perfect! There were a couple little weeds in it but nothing that effected the overall quality or was bothersome. First cut is always a little dusty, but again, not a problem. They now eat ALL of their hay, and I'm getting way more for way less money! Everyone wins! I wish they would sell it in stores, but I'll definitely continue to buy this from now on. Even if I do get a bad batch here and there it's worth it for the reasonable cost and nice quality of the hay. And another plus, I don't have to wear gloves to feed them anymore either! The other hard green hay used to actually cut my hands up. My hands are sensitive. I always had to wear gloves. This is so soft, it doesn't poke in the slightest. If you have picky hay-eaters, I would highly recommend this, and I know my rabbits would too!

While I only received this hay today it is already the best one yet. My little bun is a bit of a fussy one and knows what he likes! I have only had him a couple of months and have been trying very hard to increase his hay intake and this stubborn guy was having none of it. I had tried nearly every type of hay I could find in town to a total 4 different kinds and suppliers and still he would only nibble on it here and there but not really loving it. This Timothy hay is truly the best so far. As soon as I opened the box he hopped right in and started chomping down. Again yes it has only been a day but he is LOVING it for sure. His hay intake today has been the best so far. This came quite quickly and is the freshest of all the hay we have tried. So I think the search is officially over! We have a winner folks!

The quality of this hay has declined. My rabbits loved it in 2021, and I have bought it for the last 2 years. The first 2 boxes were good, but the last three boxes have not smelled fresh, and have a lot of brown clumps which are inedible. This is not fresh hay.

Very dusty, dark brown strands, certainly won't buy again and returning ASAP...guineas won't touch it! Going back to knibble and knaw...

One of my guinea pig is a picky eater, he won't eat a lot of hay so he has to visit the vet for his molar trim quite often. I found out this 3rd cut of hay may help him. On the first few days he sniffed it, but then he did start eating it. It's been almost a few weeks now, he eats it everyday and he seems really like it.
