Watch your teeth when your pulling on it. It works in an abrupt manner when pulled with moderate strength.

Used this to extract the brake booster from my mk4 VW. This tool is removes the ball of the brake booster's shaft from the plastic socket on the back of the brake pedal. Ergo, the tool is indispensable for pulling good vacuum brake boosters from used vehicles, to use instead of VERY expensive new parts from the dealer or otherwise. My best advice: VW's own service manuals do a terrible job of describing how to use this tool. Seek out Thomas ExoVCDS' Youtube video on how to remove a clutch master cylinder - mid way through he shows how this tool is used. It takes 30 seconds once you know how and where to insert and lever the tool to release. Without that guidance, expect 10-15 minutes of frustration without even removing the rod from the socket. Buy the tool, watch the video on how to use it, and the tool will do it's task in under a minute, and will save you hundreds on new parts.

2015 VW Passat TDI brake booster removal. Tried to fabricate my own tool to no avail but this worked to release the plastic retainer first attempt. Important note that it requires significant force to release.
