This thing is a beast!
I finally had to replace my Copper Chef induction burner I have had for 3 years. It developed cracks in the plastic around the burner area and the buttons were wearing. It was 1500 watts and way better than the electric stove in my place in every way and better than gas stoves.I had never heard of this brand and was skeptical, but challenged to find a good replacement. So I finally just took a chance with this one. It turns out this was a very good buy! My Copper Chef was about $70, this is twice that, but a nice upgrade in every way! I had to do some remedial learning with it when I first used it. (I have had it for a month). This thing is a beast! First of all, it is stainless steel except for the bottom. The "burner area" is larger than my other one by at good inch (my copper chef was an 8 inch, this is at least a 9 inch). Now talk about fast! You better be ready to start cooking one minute after you turn it on! My previous burner would come to temperature in about 3 to 4 minutes, which is fast. This thing takes no more than 2 minutes!Sure it is more powerful at 1800 watts vs 1500 watts, but more efficient as 300 watts lowers the cooking time significantly. These units are variable so they don't run at max wattage all the time (unless you set them to). Induction burners coat far less to operate than electric ones. Here is what blew my mind: It took about 10 minutes to boil 2 cups of water on my copper chef at 275 degrees/925 watts. On this Change Bert it takes about 5 minutes at 280 degrees/800 watts. It would take about 3 to 4 minutes at 300 degrees/1000 watts. That is what I call fast! The other huge difference is noise or I should say the lack thereof. My copper chef was loud by comparison, I would have to turn up the TV or stereo one notch when I had the burner going. This thing is far quieter. The difference comes from the fan size. On my copper chef it had a small PC fan (about 4 inches). This Change Bert has a good 6 inch or more fan.I also like how it tells you when it is cool enough to touch after use.I could not have chosen better!

Excellent performance and range of settings
I have a gas range that I love. Sometimes I wish I had another burner, so I started looking.I've never cooked on induction but I have all stainless steel cookware so... why not try this. In the two months I've had it, I've used it so much more than just for extra burner. There is a learning curve for a beginner like me, but it wasn't hard. For example, I have a stovetop pressure cooker in addition to my instant pot. I am using my stovetop pressure cooker a lot more now as it works even better on induction, the settings are so precise. It is now getting toward summer when I use the gas range as little as possible to keep the house cooler. I will be using this induction cooker a lot in the coming months.NOTE this unit requires an electrical circuit capable of up to 1800 watts to use all settings. Unless a home's wiring or circuit breakers are very very old, most kitchen outlet circuits can handle this easily. But, it may not be possible to operate another appliance simultaneously on the same circuit as the combined draw cannot exceed the circuit maximum. My kitchen outlets are divided between two different circuits so I dedicate one when I use this cooker. If this lasts at least a few years, it will be well worth the purchase. Pleased.

Absolute quality item! I love it!
This cook top is awesome!,I could not be happier with it. It is very easy to use, gets hot very fast and is big enough for my 10" cast iron skillet which it works perfectly with! The controls are very easy to use and understand and they are all sealed so it makes clean up very fast and easy, the cooking surface is all glass, thick and strong, and is super easy to clean as well! I love that I can turn the wattage up and down so I can even use it with my solar generator when camping or the power goes out, with out instantly draining the generators batteries. If I turn the power down to 400w, I can cook for up to 4 hours with it when using my 1600WH generator. It is very robust and well built and larger than a traditional hot plate. It makes cooking fast and easy and I highly recommend this product to anyone looking for a hotplate/counter top cooker!

Used it daily over one month, great addition
we're redoing our kitchen right now and can't use the gas stove for about a month, so I needed a compact induction cooktop to handle daily meals, especially with kids at home, and this one's been a great solution.I've been using it almost every day to cook for the family. first thing I noticed: it heats up fast. The heat mode is clearly made for quick cooking. when I need to boil water, I just hit the boil button, it jumps to 1800W and gets going in just a few minutes. Super handy on busy weeknights when I don't have time to wait.Temp mode heats a bit slower than heat mode, but I think that's on purpose- to keep things from burning. It's really helpful for stuff that needs steady, lower heat, like simmering stew or melting chocolate.I've made a bunch of different meals with it, and switching between Heat and Temp to keep it gently simmering. Same when I steam veggies, heat to boil then Temp to keep the steam just right without overdoing it.The fan's nice and quiet too, so it doesn't drive me crazy while I'm cooking. All in all, it's easy to use, easy to clean, feels sturdy, and performs well. Definitely worth it so far.

Better than a Microwave!
We decided to use the microwave as little as possible and purchased a ChangBert one-burner induction unit. We have used it multiple times a day ever since we received it, and it works well and efficiently. I think it is at as quick, or nearly as quick, as the microwave for reheating foods. We also cook meals on it. It's amazingly fast to heat, and we often turn the heat down from its default setting. We have used it multiple times daily ever since we received it, partly because I am without a range temporarily while awaiting a new one. I consider the price very reasonable for the quality of the unit and have been recommending it to family members.
