Fantastic FRFR speaker!
I tried numerous FRFR speakers before choosing this winner. To my ears this is wonderful! Good volume and great sound dispersion. Unless you're super super close to it this sounds more like a coaxial (stacked) speaker and not two side by side speakers - which some FRFR speakers did and sounded terrible because of it.The handle is great and it is light enough to lug around and has a metal front metal. One thing to comment this is passively cooled and the back panel does get fairly hot sometimes. With that there is obviously no FAN sound at all which I noticed with some other FRFR speakers I tried. At bedroom volumes the fan was really annoying to listen to.My findings was the TS series 8" speaker sounded too thin and the 12" speaker version sounded too muddy. The 10" one is perfect for my needs. Nice and full sound! All in all this sounds far beyond its price and because of that I don't feel overprotective of it carrying it around, which I like. No regrets and I would buy another one without hesitation!

Stunning Capabilities . . . amazed!!
I have a couple of 308s which were so good for vocal monitors, I got crazy and got the 10" for rehearsals with my Roland TD15 kit. The other day we had to play a gig in a very tight space and I used the 10 in a gig setting for my Roland TD15. Keep in mind I also have large 15" EVs and a Bose LS with Bass2 module . . . so I have a pretty good idea of what things "should" sound like. I play with a 10 piece band and sometimes the e-drums give me better control than my acoustic Yamaha PHX kit (which is top of the line). I expected this 10" Alto to "just get the job done" . . . it did WAY more . . . I had a friend sit in and I went out front . . . this thing sounded INCREDIBLE!!! I immediately ordered another!! Anyone who plays e-drums knows that the "kit" sounds included are garbage . .. they require hours and hours of tweaking to get right. THEN you have to use them and adapt those settings to whatever amp system you are using . . . this 310 system was stunning . . . lightweight / punchy / full sounding and loud enough for an average gig of 50-70 people in a bar / party setting. I reduced my low end EQ by -12db because of the 10 expecting the low end to be "meh" . . . I was wrong . . . the low end kicked with depth . . . which makes me think a lot of people have their EQ settings too high with this trying to create a "contoured loudness effect" . . . don't bother! This baby will give that dance floor thump without trying to overdrive it. Excellent purchase!!!

Decent Speaker
Nowadays the quarter plug in amp to speakers are phasing out in various genres or venues. This is a good buy for the person in need of a sound system which is easily mobile and consolidates space occupancy where room is limited. Strong sound for a small room of 200 people; good bass vibes. Only concerned I have had is that it gets pretty hot within an hour of service with only one instrument and a microphone attached.

Impressed.
I will preface this review with the fact that I have nothing to compare this to other than a Marshall DSL40C amp. I don't play out or professionally. I got this to work with a Line 6 Helix LT, which I LOVE. The Helix didn't sound good through my amp, which from the beginning, didn't have much in the way of highs. I tried running the Helix through some JBL monitors, since I don't play with a band and would like to have tried some recording, but never could get any decent volume out of them, when that was what I wanted. THESE, however, put out A LOT of sound. To me they are a better option. I may try some other monitors for fooling around with recording, but for playing along with a drum track or recorded music or just jamming, these work great. Sound is excellent. Plenty of highs and lows. Just very impressed for the cost...

Excellent audio quality / cost ratio
This thing is excellent. Puts out higher spl than similar priced pa speakers ive tried and doesn't distort until clipping. Fills large patio at 1/2 volume with ease. Bass is meh, but midrange response is pretty smooth. Highs are of course sharp thanks to the horn flare at high volumes. At a low volume it is completely acceptable. I strongly recommend using a mixer to tweak the sound to your liking. Makes a huge difference. Took it apart, Relatively cheap components inside. Stamp steel basket, paper cone and mushy spider. Magnet is quite large though. The tweeter is built very well. Be warned, this does not work in a small room. It is a PA speaker, not a home speaker. The imperfections will be noticeable in a small space.

Thought it was blown, got a replacement and it sounds the same.
I'm using it to run my guitar through. I run my guitar into my computer and use Neural DSP's plugins. They sound great through studio monitors. I wanted to get something that was louder so I could play with friends who have big amps, studio monitors just don't cut it. So, with a 4.5 star review I opted to try this. The first one I got, which I thought was blown because of the static sound that came through, I decided to get a replacement. The second one has the exact same issue. It sounds like it has a gain/distortion pedal run through, even when I play a clean tone through it. Pretty disappointed. I definitely will not be getting Alto products in the future.
