It does work if you persist
I'v waited a while to review this item. I've gave it 4 stars because I think the instructions could be more detailed. However, if you get one, do persist with getting the hang of it because it does save time and effort. I recommend using a pair of kitchen gloves which help to slide the socks/stocking on to the frame otherwise your hands slip, saw this recoimmended on a you tube video and it does help.

Won't take you long to get used to it, and it sure helps
I recently got serious about wearing my compression stockings. I decided to crack the problem of getting the things on. I found this device, and for the price, it was worth the experiment, so I ordered it, and I am glad I did. It doesn't take much time to familiarise yourself with using it, and it can make the job less daunting and less tedious. One trick I learned was not to concertina the stocking onto the frame, just stop pushing it on before it starts to concertina. It works better that way. You will soon get the hang of it. The frame doesn't fold up, but it is probably small enough that you could shove it in a travel bag if necessary.

With a little imagination
I invented a method to use this that works quite well for me. How it was intended I find useless. With Tubigrip, I stretch it over the top, all scrunched up like in the picture near the top and then can reach hold to pull the Tubigrip over all my toes, which I cannot do without it. This allow me then to pull onto my feet and from there up on to my lower legs. Not bothering to cover feet with compression stockings for reason below.Originally, I was using compression stockings which included the foot part, first closed, then ones with open toes. Neither suitable as they were damaging skin in one spot at the bend in front near my ankle.

just a knack
My husband has extremely swollen legs and feet. Tried 3 separate "gadgets", but his foot would not go into the aperture to allow him to put on his made to measure knee length socks. Saw that this gadget mentioned being useful for compression socks so ordered it without much hope of success. Socks no use if you can't get them on. We got them on within 5 minutes of it's arrival,, which was only an hour ago, and his first word was "WONDERFUL". I realise there is a bit of a knack which is when the foot is well into the device, and you feel the heel is nearly there, point your toes upwards, and the sock will go over the heel, and the length then goes on automatically. Keep trying, as I have a heart condition and just couldn't cope with trying to pull them on, with no success , became very frustrated and upset. Small and reasonable price but worth it's weight in gold ( as it is light also) Would highly recommend. Dee ( Derbyshire)

Very good
It is a simple but very clever little tool. It has solved the problem of helping my husband, who has mobility problems, to put socks on. Before its arrival, it was difficult for me to deal with the stiffness of my husband's ankles, but now it takes just a few seconds to complete the task.

Wouldn't recommend
As an aid for someone with poor range of motion, it has NOT helped at all. Several times it's even flown across the room when I've tried to shove my foot in.
