Especially at full price - No. It's a bit of a let down overall. It's as if the Prooducers took a few short cuts to save some money perhaps and some of the storylines don't quite add up or are a bit weak. I bought Series 1-3 and was tempted to buy Series.4. to see if there was any improvement - but couldn't be bothered and moved on.

I have become an aficionado like millions of people.I saw a few random episodes on H B O in Asia and determined to get with the fascinating story.My teenage grandson is a fan and we can compare our heroes.Daenerys is No.1 with me.The series has to be a winner for casting,production and effects.The closing scene of Series 1 is Masterly.Huge thanks to George R R Martin for allowing us this delight.I am now watching series 1 to 4 again prior to my first experience of series 5,all purchased from Amazon.Very much look forward to more hours of first rate episodes,thanks to H B O.Little bit too much female nudity for me,but tasteful ok.

Gritty, bloody, shocking, outrageous cruelty, merciless torture. The sheer wretchedly miserable lives of the folk of Westeros that forces you to concentrate on the plots in sympathy. An experience similar to, but that compares more favourably to filling in a tax return for HMRC., but equally unavoidable, unfortunately. A must-see for the telly watcher who loves fantasy over horror. This particular feature combines both genre that should satisfy even the most fastidious of viewers. Absolutely unmissable. I can watch these episodes over and over again. Few series command this much attention from me. Peter Jackson's 'Lord of the Rings' trilogy is better, with his latest 'The Hobbit' trilogy coming up on the rails. The arrival of this particular boxed set of 'Game of Thrones' will sit next to them on my bookshelf collection of precious, fantasy Blu-rays. I've a feeling that television is overtaking the Cinema in quality drama these days.

Amazing, amazing , amazing! I was a late comer to "Game of Thrones" as we don't have satellite but daughter had read the books and encouraged me to watch it. I was hooked from the first episode...pure escapism for me and gripping storylines, although I did find it difficult to remember who was who at first and had to keep referring to the little family tree booklet which came with the dvd! I do find the violence a bit gratuitous at times but my teenage neice assures me she thinks it essential to the story so it must be my age...I just wince and close my eyes. The sort of series I would watch again , although not the sort of series to dip in and out of.....like "Friends" for example. But for a gripping, exciting yarn, with a historical look to it, this is the box set for you!

Before I bought this set I was a GoT virgin, knowing nothing about the series apart from some chatter I'd read on the internet. But what I had read got me sufficiently intrigued that when I was given a £50 Amazon voucher from the girls at work for my birthday I figured this was a good time to splurge and buy this set which ordinarily I wouldn't have! So glad I did as from the first episode I was hooked, and managed to watch all 3 series in a week - this involved hogging the big TV and banishing hubby to watch TV on his tablet on the kitchen table bless him, he was very forbearing! It took a while to get over the amount of sex, nudity and violence, and working out all the different families and who was who etc was quite tricky (there are so many characters!). Now I am completely hooked and can see what all the fuss is about!

Season 1 played fine. Every other disc plays badly. Flickering, crashing, unable to move forward, and bad quality. Hopeless. And considering the price! I put it aside for a while because of this. forgetting why I tired it again, and now I think it might be too late to return the set and get a refund.

Just an awesome series, in my view, and by the popularity of this epic, I am not alone. Good story and well edited. Great characters that you love and hate, the sets and costumes are superb, plenty of medieval style action with enough graphic scenes to keep gore hungry watchers entertained.It is not suitable for younger viewers, as some full frontal nudity is shown together with the odd sex scenes. It is not pornographic in anyway, but prudish people may not find it palatable.Most episodes end at a point where you are left on the edge of your seat and wanting to know what happens next.I highly recommend this series and admire George RR Martin for his amazing imagination and ability to deliver a compelling and gripping story.Watch the series on DVD or read the books, I'm sure you will be hooked.

Fantastic. I went on one evening and the price has gone down to £33.60 from £42.00, so I thought okay now I have no excuse not to buy this. What made it better was Amazon's amazing control of this. I ordered it at 11pm on Wednesday 6th and it arrived on my doorstep at 9am 2 days later, and I used standard delivery! Was not expecting it until next Wednesday earliest. As for the actual show, it is brilliant. There are so many stories going on at once so it is always interesting, although I recommend to get the most out of it you look up the main characters first so you are comfortable with it.
