Transformed our deck!
We had one of those six sided canopies that was we stood up over our deck table/chairs. It would rust and the canopy would eventually rip from wind and we were unable to get replacements. This is a great idea but you have to mount it yourself. I watched some Youtube videos on how others did it and then did it myself. I bought a large size (12' x 16'). My deck is 14' by 25'. This was perfect size. it gave good coverage over table and opened up the whole deck - our old canopy had legs that came down in 6 points which meant you had to walk around things (and it was much smaller. This made the deck seem huge. I used eye hooks into the house on one side and I used 3" diameter stainless steel conduit as poles (fairly cheap at home improvement store) on the other side which I mounted to the base of the deck. Overall worked great. If I were to do again, I might use larger diameter poles or rectangular ones to hold up better in high winds. I see a slight bend in them now. Rain goes through this so it's not a water proof thing, but that also means wind blows through it to avoid tears in sudden gusts. It provides good shade but not 100% blockage (like 85% reduction in sun) - nice balance. It held up to strong winds. Seems well made. Plus it's fairly cost effective if you buy a pre-made size. NOTE: you need to buy smaller than your area to cover - leave at least 2 feet for connections in each corner & to pull tight. As mentioned in one direction my deck is 14' so I bought 12' which is the max. If I bought 14' it would not work! Search online, you'll see how. But not trivial. I'm a handy guy doing carpentry & and engineer by trade and it still took me a 5+ hours to design and build the whole thing. But now I can buy a reasonably price replacement that makes now my deck the favorite hangout for the whole family (seriously). Even in the evenings, when the sun has set having a covering makes the deck seem different & more comfortable to hang out on. Not sure why - just a psychological thing I guess having that covering. If you are handy enough to do it, use this solution!!!!

Very Nice Sail
This Sail is a great deal for the product you get. It seems to be very durable and should provide years of service.WHAT TO DO FOR A WRINKLE One of the pictures I uploaded shows a TWIST I put into the one corner to take out a wrinkle in one direction. The one corner has 1-1/2 twists in it to remove the wrinkle, I found the tip on Pintrest 🤷♂️ I wouldn't hesitate to purchase it again. Great Sail especially for the cost. I learned so much about geometry and Sail installation from my recent outdoor project that I’d like to share it with you. I’m renting this place so I had to spend my money wisely but efficiently. I installed a total of 5 Sails (2 rectangles, 1 right triangle & 2 triangles) each a different size & from different vendors. Each UV rating was between 180 to 190 GSM and they’re all close, I suppose. The most noticeable difference between them all was the stitching around the D-Rings.MEASURING TIP Each Sail was 8” to 16” longer than the dimensions supplied, measuring from ring to ring as if it’s laid out, not the length of the fabric between rings. Give yourself at least 38” allowance at each connection in the direction it’s being pulled. 12” to allow for fabric variation & stretch, 10” for a 4” turnbuckle & 16” for your attachment rope/cable/chain or…. If you don’t allow enough space, you may wind up with wrinkles in your fabric that don’t look so hot.INSTALLATION TIP I suggest running a small rope or a heavy string between your type points first to make sure that the Sail you’re purchasing is the right fit with enough allowances at each connection.I measured for the rectangle next to my deck using the suppliers 2 ft allowance, but the fabric variation made it too big and I had to get creative to use it. It was a bit complicated to make work but, in the end, it looked cool as heck. Obtaining the correct tie points for the triangles was the biggest challenge. By running a rope or a guy wire first, you’ll be able to determine the size sail that will fit within your tie points without wrinkles.

Great Shade but not waterproof.
Love them we bought two and so far so good. If you are looking for rain protection this is not going to do it. Shade only.

Good buy
Bought this when it was on sale. The canopy has held well through several summer storms so far and provides nice shade coverage. Planning to purchase a larger one.

Decent quality for the price
We weren't sure if a shade sail would work in our space, so we didn't want to spend a lot until we were certain. For the price, this is a really good quality shade fabric, and it does the job nicely. I've had Coolaroo on another shelter, and I'd have to say, this is as good, if not better. The D-rings seem well sewn and the reinforced edges seem strong - for now. We'll have to see what the sun does to them. My only issue, and it's not the company's fault, is that the blue we chose looks a bit "tarp-like" in colour. We'll juts have to get used to it. Again for 70 bucks and free shipping, it was a great buy.

Good quality for price, not as great at keeping things cool.
Our back deck is very exposed and gets very hot during the summer months. We bought this to hopefully offer some shade and cool things down. The product looks well designed and no issues with the quality. Installation was as expected. The only thing that others should know, and why I only gave 4 stars is that we still get a lot of light and heat coming through. Today, in the sun is 37 celsius. Under sail is 34. In full shade (behind a plant on the same deck) is 27. I used digital thermometers to check. Maybe I'm missing something, or it's to be expected, but just wanted to point out the shade/cooling factor was less than I was hoping for.
