Worked well out of the box with no issues. If you plan on using this headset for just flying / racing sims, then this is the perfect product. It plugs directly into your GPU and USB power / wall socket and requires no batteries or base stations. It is lightweight enough to be comfortable for long term use. It provides good clarity even on lower end VR systems (RTX 3080, I7 10700K, 32 GB DDR4 RAM) when used with open xr and pimax 90HZ upscaled (selected in PIMAX play). I was able to get consistent 45 FPS in MSFS 2020 on medium to low settings. Even on these settings, the game looked good and the cockpit gauges where clear. I highly recommend picking up this headset to try out VR. I plan on upgrading my computer in the future but even with my current hardware the experience is overall better than on a 2D monitor and I am happy I made the jump to VR.

Received the PCL a couple of weeks ago to replace the HP G2 headset. The install instructions were well hidden in the box, ended up going to their website for the instructions. I eventually found them in the box. Installation was easy and it worked. The image quality is sharp, good contrast/colors, large sweet spot and best of all, no artifacts that you get with Frenzel lenses. I tried 3 other VR headsets, Meta and 2 Vives, the image quality on all 3 was worse than the old HP G2. Would have given 5 stars if not for the hidden instructions.

I was so excited to finally get the Cristal light in my hands. It's the headset we DCS flight sim players have been dreaming of. A direct connection to my GPU. No compression no lag, it's well worth $900.00.But unfortunately that's not what I got. And to be honest a product in high demand thats pushing the VR industry to new levels one should expect issues.I don't know what was wrong with my headset. But I did know the image was dark and blurry. So I contacted pimax support. And this is why I am sending my headset back and will not buy anything from pimax again. It takes days to get a email response. And they ask have you downloaded the pimax play app? Well yes you can't activate the headset without it. A day or 2 later he says try restarting your PC.The most advanced suggestion I got from pimax was turn the brightness slider up.So on day 13 I requested a refund. Then you get multiple responses. They offered me a $30 discount to keep a defensive headset.Like I said issues are going to happen with in situations like this. I'm not upset about that. But bad customer support will drive Pimax out of business. And that's kinda sad. Pimax is the reason we now have multiple companies trying to get into VR. If not for pimax the quest 3 or that Apple headset wouldn't exist.

HUGE upgrade from G2, exceptional visuals much better tracking. Perfect for Flight Sim, both X-Plane and MSFS 2024

Microsoft sunsetting Windows MIxed Reality is forcing us to replace our HP Reverb G2 PCVR setup so I narrowed it to Pimax Crystal Light (PCL) vs. Meta Quest 3 (MQ3) and bought both figuring I'd return one.PCL is pretty darned good, and should get more stable soon IHMO.PCL has solid visual specs, and works well at 90 FPS once dialed-in for driving sims like Assetto Corsa (110% of native res) & Automobilista 2 (72% of native) with Pimax Play's rendering set at 1.0x (and in-game super-sampling at 1.0x with selective use of high & a few ultra settings to avoid shimmering/aliasing).PCL has a good "sweet spot," what seems like more in-headset performance potential (incl DisplayPort), and a bit more bulk vs. MQ3 having slightly wider sweet spot, a little less resolution / bandwidth (and no DP), and less bulky.Ordered my PCL Nov 6, received Nov 30 with a defective left earpiece ...that customer service is working to get me a replacement (it's Jan12 now). I'd change this to 5-stars once everything has been working as designed for 6-months. At this price point (2x what we paid for Reverb G2s, remember) the value feels like 4 stars vs. MQ3 delivering reasonably close performance + more stand-alone versatility. Keep in mind it's early days when you're reading the harsher reviews from customers getting more defective units or receiving slower customer service, which is kind of understandable given the product's newness.There's really no other direct substitute PCVR setup & I'm thankful Pimax tailored this offering out of the upscale Crystal platform (which had a ton of things I had no use for and won't miss) - excellent cost-reduction on their product planners' part. So nothing really close spec and performance-potential wise, so we have to hope Pimax sorts this one out since it's such a good fit for PCVR gaming where we are seated and tethered via fairly bulky DP cords. Grand scheme of things, the unit I received seems to have the potential (once sorted) to be a good solution; lenses seem pretty good and fairly stable software so far. Comfort is reasonable for 3-5 hours of gameplay, centering/reset and resolution similar to G2 (with less screen-door effect), and hopefully Pimax will have most of the kinks sorted out soon.
