Great substitute
Easy to setup since my fan already had a receiver installed. After power-cycling the fan, it paired on the second try. It does take being a bit close and pointing directly to the fan to work, but the inputs otherwise work as needed. Quality feels good and fits well in the hand. Adjusting brightness and fan speed works as needed.

Perfect replacement!
Perfect replacement for original Hunter fan remote! I have no idea what model my fan is, but the original black remote is pretty standard, I think. This one is prettier and functions perfectly well. Just turn on the power to the fan and quickly click the pair button ONCE and you'll be greeted by a happy little <beep>; then, you're good to go! It is compatible with my Hunter fan.

They sent me a used unit that barely works instead of a new one like I ordered??
Ordered 2 ceiling fan controllers for about $75. Only one was new.. The other had definitely been used w frayed wires & missing parts. I wired them both up anyway.. the used one hums loudly, barely moves the fan blades & the fan speed buttons on the remote are backwards lol. One of the new controllers & remote works ok, but the maximum speed is actually closer to medium speed & also hums pretty loud compared to the other ceiling fans in the house that work properly. I thought that paying more for new controllers would ensure that I receive a good quality product.. Sad to say this is not the case from my experience with this company. Seems like they tried to pull a fast one sending me a used unit for the price of a new one.. Not a good business practice, which has me questioning the integrity of this company. I'm returning the merchandise for a refund & won't be buying from this company again.

Great replacement or second remote for your fan
I purchased this because we only had one remote control with our fan in our bedroom. Having a second remote allows both my wife and I to control the fan without having to climb across our California King bed. So glad I made this purchase because life is so much easier when you wake up and you want to turn the fan off instead of having to jump out in the cold air. The buttons are a little strange but are intuitive enough to get used to. The fan button itself will turn the fan off and the up arrow will put the fan on high with the down arrow putting it on low, no matter what the current speed is. Our fan allowed for multiple remote controls so this was the perfect addition!

It worked for me. Battery not included.
I installed this in a Hunter fan/light fixture. It does work as it should, but I was disappointed to find that a battery for the remote was not included. Also the battery compartment on the remote control requires a #1 phillips screwdriver to open.Required battery is a CR2032, the remote will not work without one.I'd opt for a unit with more easily replaceable batteries, and more common AAA or AA batteries.

Bad start, happy ending, it works.
This remote was a speculative purchase that I hoped would work out with my fan. Read review for happy ending. My actual Hunter fan model (K5579-02) was not listed in the ad for this replacement remote although I read somewhere online my fan model was listed on an "identical looking" after market remote that was at a much higher price point. I risked the purchase and was excited to see how closely it resembled my original product remote. However after many attempts at paring this replacement remote with the fan following the simple instructions it would not pair or work. Several days passed and a more online research and I found a review from someone who had problems pairing the remote like me but found a solution to make it work. To pair instructions say turn power to fan on and within one minute press the remote pairing button, simple right? But it never worked. The solution provided by this other reviewer was how long to hold the pairing button. It has to be a very fast press and release, less than one second. I had been pressing and holding various amounts of time but never a fast press and release. I did try the fast press and release method and the remote paired instantly, fan gave a confirming beep and all remote functions have been working perfectly every scene. I'm very pleased!
