DigitalLife Standalone Audio Cassette Converter with Playback

For what I bought it for, it exceeded my expectations, i.e. to transfer some very old cassettes (some over 40 years old) as MP3s. This was to capture memories of people, not music.I selected the easiest method which meant I could be away from the computer: insert two AA batteries insert the old cassette plug in a USB stick at the side press down the 'play' button down (at the front) press the record button (at the back) - a green flashing light confirms it is recording.Then I could get on with other things - carrying it around with me so that I could check in case any of the old cassettes jammed (they didn't).I used an old pair of earphones. The quality didn't sound very good when listening in (this may have been due to the earphones) but, given their age, when I downloaded the MP3 files from the USB stick to my computer, the recordings were really clear. I am very pleased.It didn't worry me about the look of the machine - but in fact I thought it looked good and quite sturdy. It is a lot more solid than some of the others appeared to be.The seller had attached a label which said as I had bought it through Amazon I could upgrade the guarantee (free) to 24 months.I found the battery use surprisingly economical.

I was a bit disappointed to hear buzzing when listening to headphones, but it is not apparent on the ripped audio files, so I’m ok with that. Sound quality is ok, but I have to remember that the source is cassette tape, which is not as good as other sources I’m used to listening to. (That said, I have a top end separates cassette player which sounds better - but that cost much more than this player!)Rips are fine. It missed the audio gap between a few tracks and didn’t auto split the MP3 files, but I’m ok with that: much less time needed to just let this run and rip automatically - and then split a couple of files manually, than ripping manually by other methods.It sounded a bit slow at first, but it seems to have loosened up (in a good way) since ripping a C90.Does what it is intended to do. If you don’t expect very high quality you won’t be disappointed. If high quality rips are what you need, then look for something else (which will likely be more expensive).Tip: this has auto reverse, so you can just let it run and it will rip an entire tape. However, it will constantly auto reverse, so you’ll get multiple copies if you don’t stop it. Just keep an eye on the time (or set a timer) and then you can stop the tape / ripping process ;)

This product did not work with my imac despite downloading Audacity online. The software on a mac wont recognise it at all. So this does not work with up to date apple products!So i eventually hooked it up to an old windows based lap top. Worked perfectly for one cassette. After which the quality of sound slowed dramatically as the power through USB is not enough to make it work properly. I then put brand new batteries in it and the same thing. I checked the quality of the tape to make sure it was not the tape by playing it on an old mains powered stereo. The tape was fine. It was the 'Super' really, USB converter. Don't buy it. Cheap is great if it does the job but it does not.

good product does the job!

The product was delivered very quickly, looks good and feels substantial. It plays a cassette and the sound is good for a cassette player. As to its other facilities and uses I have not yet had time ti try them out

Not mad about this product. The sound was so low from my cassette. I don't think it's really what I wanted but it may be useful for transferring music.

Ce petit convertisseur me permet de brancher l'unité central de mon ordinateur par la prise VGA à mon écran plat de télévision par HDMI. Il convertit que dans un sens les signaux audio/vidéo, de la prise VGA vers HDMI et avec une alimentation par prise Usb uniquement.Dommage que le cordon VGA soit trop court, le convertisseur est en suspension. Quelques bugs de visionnage sur les vidéos d'internet type YouTube ou Dailymotion, mais pouvant venir également du débit de ma box. Satisfait de mon achat et livraison rapide.

Funciona perfectamente y no hay pérdida de calidad en la imagen fácil de instalar. Relación calidad y precio muy buena

De mala calidad (plástico muy malo) y además parecía usado (sin precinto y el botón del play medio suelto). Lo devolví de inmediato.
