I had a dead BMW key and rather than throwing it away or storing it as a spare I had a go at repairing it. I use soldering irons daily at work so there should have been no issue.This battery is not a drop in replacement for the BMW key and will need the legs of the battery trimming and twisting to ensure the battery fits flat ensuring the case can be closed and glued.it is a very tricky job to solder these onto the board, so when removing the old battery to make your job easier leave the old battery legs attached to the board and use those to fit to the trimmed legs from the new battery using a soldering iron.Although I did fit it correctly it did not work for me until I realised that you have to sync the key afterwards, I have an E46 so to sync the key you insert it into the ignition turn it 5 times then remove it, hold the unlock button whilst pressing the BMW button 3 times...it should then work.

The product comes as described. But if you are replacing your e46 key battery, then you will have to bend or remove the metal parts attached as they do not line up exactly.

Battery was the correct size but the holder pins are not in the correct positions. But with a little work and bending you can get them to fit.

Did the job although it is wired slightly different to the way my key was wired (battery was facing different way) but I swapped it around and got it working.

It's a battery made by Panasonic and apart from the tags being in the wrong place - can't locate this battery for a BMW key fob with the correctly positioned tags - just a bit of soldering required - this is fine working well
