These are a few of my favorite things
Went through my washing machine and still works perfectly. Love it! The magnet did fall off the backing (before it went through the washer) but it still holds the badge onto my work vest just fine.Editing to add: battery life kinda sucks. I only get to listen to one episode of star trek at work before I need to charge it. It normally takes about 15 minutes to fully charge though. Also it got washed again and still works.

It’s worth the money! Functions as designed
Bought this as a gift for my father.I was skeptical because I sent it directly to his house and I didn’t receive the package myself. My father is almost 60 years old, and I was worried that he wasn’t going to be able to understand or be able to set up the device correctly.Great productEasy set upExcellent quality on the magnetWhen he received the packageHe charged it upAnd immediately gave me a call from itElatedEcstaticSays it was one of the best gifts I ever got himCan you tell he loves Star Trek?Worth the money

Great Quality Material, Poor Volume & Limited Range
The Section 31 Bluetooth Com Badge is very well made with a sleek gloss black and Metallic Silver Delta style. The Metal Back Plate is a gloss gunmetal with a strong Neodymium Magnet to hold onto the Com Badge through a shirt, t-shirt, blouse, or uniform. It doesn't hold well on clothing thicker than a shirt or t-shirt, it won't hold well through a fleece or jumper! There are a few down sides of this com bade. The volume of voice calls or phone text to speech interactions. Volume is controlled from the device the badge is connected to, but even at full volume, I was barely able to hear the person calling me in a test and we were only inside in different rooms! The Bluetooth range is very poor, I got around eight feet from my phone and the com badge disconnected, this won't be a problem if you have your phone on you, or next to you, just don't go to another room or you'll get cut off. Another downside is the battery life.On a full charge, which can be reached well within an hour, you'll maybe get four hours of connection with the badge, that'll drop to about an hour if you actually use it for a call or to dictate a message. The control functions are very simple, you touch and hold to turn the device off/on, a shorter hold will put the badge into Cosplay mode with just chirping sound effects, a quick double tap will launch your chosen AI assistant on your phone/tablet. Other controls are performed via your connected device such as volume etc.If the speakers on the Com Badge had been louder (Mobile phone quality), and the battery lasted much longer than an hour in active use I would highly recommend this device. As it is currently, November 2024, It's a great Cosplay item, toy or collectible, but really not useable in any real scenario such as a phone call, or dictating messages. The price will certainly have to drop if the current operational parameters are not drastically improved.

Very cool product! But may suffer from low battery life or volume problems.
Really cool looking product, but had some concerns:1) Low battery life?So I heard that this may be a concern, and indeed it is. On my first unit I got about 1.5 hours out of a charge using it for continuous audio play. Not bad, but then I had the heat issue. My third unit, only gets like 30 mins of continuous audio. So long phone calls are risky. Being I travel 45 mins to work... this is not desireable. It says 2 hours of constant usage (granted that may not be specifically constant audio, but still. I wish it was longer battery).2) Volume problemsVolume is controlled through your volume adjustment on the phone. In this case my phone goes up to "10/10" for max volume during a call and "30/30" for volume during music playback. The Music Playback is great. Can make the unit quite loud, but I still usually max the volume unless at a particularly loud part of the song. During a call, it sounds pretty quiet most times. I can barely hear the phone ringing the other person. I usually have to ask the other person to speak up. This can be just a phone issue, but it would have been nice for me to manually adjust the volume instead of trusting my phone to do it best. Please note this product is really cool. It's useful. It's fun. The magnet is strong enough to hold it through most materials. The magnet placement is a little off? so it doesn't actually line up properly. Same on all 3 units. Kinda weird. The chirp is great. The way you click it is fine. It looks really nice. It's really fun to use it in coordination with Cortana/Siri.The biggest thing to watch out for is that battery life. If you can't deal with a short battery life, don't get this as your primary bluetooth device.

Nerdtastic
It's a working ST:TNG com badge. Hard to argue with that.

Overpriced cheap garbage
It's cool, and amazing for cosplay, but if used regularly, the cheap glue will come undone. It can still be used, for the hour or so the battery will play music quieter than your phone.. The sound quality is not as good either, but I expected that. I wouldn't buy this unless it was cheaper, like $25-$30.(Part of the original 2/5 Star i have when I first bought it.):Section 31 hasn't come out yet either, so it feels like a cash grab on an IP that alot of the fandom has already rejected. I personally like Discovery and it's spin-offs, but the price feels like taxing on the gamble that the spin-off will be well received.(The movie sucked btw)
