Very nice lead free pewter
This is very nice pewter to work with. I'm using it for jewelery castings. I tested it for lead because I test everything and it's lead free. My impression working with it is that it's very pure. Little to no waste at all in my casting process.

Super Cool Stuff
I've always been captivated from molten metal. It was my ASMR before ASMR was a thing. When I was in high school, I made a cast aluminum sculpture and I was hooked ever since.I've loved the idea of using a low-melt eutectic alloy for casting small parts and this is exactly what I was looking for. I can use a high-temp silicone mold and cast these for days. My idea was to make a set of chess pieces and they honestly look fantastic, but I'm going to need a bunch more of this stuff to complete the set, so I'll be purchasing more soon. I'm not 100% on whether the price is great (I might find a bulk supplier), but the product itself is fantastic.

Exact weight. Melts easily.
This pewter has a similar appearance and casts in a similar manner to other pewters I have worked with. I have no way to verify the composition but this seems to be a great product with lower lead exposure risks!

Melts easily in a cast iron pan on a convection burner
The metal melts very easily. I set our convection burner to 400 degrees and put in the pewter. In pretty short time the pewter is ready to pour.To test it, I used a small piece of oak that I had used to test my router depth. I do not have the supplies to make a sand mold but I will be looking into it.The cat iron pan we are using is very small at about 3" across. It does a good job.The pewter came out very nice considering the "mold" was not prepped in any fashion. The heat only singed the wood and it will be reusable.

Weighs in at exactly 15oz, no Pb (lead)
These pewter semi-spheres shipped quickly and upon arrival weighed in (no box, no packaging) at exactly 15oz. Always suspicious of made in China products, I subjected them to a lead (Pb) test after scratching the surface of one unit. Pleasantly surprised to find no lead. These will work nicely by themselves and when alloyed with some copper for more of a brass situation. BE CAREFUL WHEN HANDING! - there are some sharp points on these hemispheres left over from the pouring process which resulted in an uncomfortable stab in the finger - thus only 4 stars.

Easily learn lost wax casting
I was trying to learn how to lost wax cast with silver. That was nearly impossible! This pewter makes it much easier to learn the technique and process, then you can try to use silver. I have been learning silversmithing and have been struggling to cast anything. This made it easy to get the hang of what Im supposed to do. Definitely recommend it. It got nice and shiny without any firescale.

Perfect for casting rings
I am just starting out with metal casting and silversmithing, so this pewter is perfect for nice small casts that I can work with stone jewelry. The hubby does some small casts for gun barrels so we already have a small setup for casting, so it was very easy to modify for small sand casting using this material. This is a set of fifteen 1 ounce beads that are perfectly sized for small casts for pendants, rings, and earrings. I'm using for rings specifically as I wanted something with a low melting point for our very simplistic casting setup with flask and petrobond, using a 3d printer for design of the impressions. This is a great choice as its lead free, great quality, and easy to melt. Anyone interested in sand casting your own jewelry can easily use this nice quality material for DIY hobbies. Very happy with this product.
