I can’t say enough good things about the Bird Buddy birdfeeder! It’s been a total game-changer for how I connect with nature, especially when I’m not home. The photo and video quality are outstanding—crisp, detailed, and often surprisingly charming. Watching birds up close in their natural behavior has become a daily joy, and sharing the footage with friends and family has been a lot of fun! I was a Kickstarter investor and have enjoyed it so much, I upgraded to the newest camera this year!One of the standout features is how adaptable the system is. The ability to add a hummingbird feeder, suet ball holder, and solar panel really takes it to the next level. There are many aftermarket things you can add, and even Bird Buddy has started adding items. I especially appreciate the extendable perches, and larger seed holder attachment. They’ve made it easier for a variety of birds to land and feed comfortably with seed that is in the feeder for a longer period of time. No one wants to go full the feeder daily!The solar panel has worked great for me too, cutting down on the need to recharge, and the modular design makes upgrades and add-ons seamless.There are a few drawbacks worth noting. Squirrels got a little too curious and managed to chew through the front panel fairly easily, which was a bit disappointing. This has happened on both of my feeders. Also, it’s a subscription model for photos which some people dislike. It’s worth it though for the smart features and app experience. Occasionally, bird identification can be off too—nothing major, but a few misidentifications here and there. It’s easy to change the bird if in the app too. The AI is always learning too! Another challenge for us was understanding that the feeder ONLY works on 2.4Gh. We had a couple other household items prefer that bandwidth so ended up running a separate router extender for the Bird Buddy and other gadgets!!!Overall, Bird Buddy delivers an engaging, educational and delightful experience for any birdwatcher or nature enthusiast. It’s high-tech meets backyard bliss!

OBSESSED! I received this as a mother gift and it’s amazing. It took about 2 weeks for the birds to come but now they come in droves. There is a free version of the app or a paid version, I have been fine with the features of the free one thus far. It does need WiFi to work though so make sure you can hang it somewhere outside the house but close to WiFi. Easy to put together and very retro cute looking. I have had to bring it inside to charge though as sometimes the solar is not enough.

This was a gift for my sister. My daughter got one at Christmas. They are wonderful if you like to feed birds and watch them. The camera allows all kinds of feed straight to your phone. And since its an app, friends and family can download it and see live feeds. Bird Buddy is a bit pricey, but it's well constructed and has great add ons. Both my daughter and sister really enjoy the gift. Amazon sells everything you want for it and you get it quickly. Comes well packaged and boxed so no one can identify whats in it. I got the one with the solar panel roof so it can charge the camera naturally versus recharging it from the house more often. It's cute and a great size. I got the yellow color for my sister and blue for my daughter and they are both nice. You can't imagine all the hours of watching and variety of birds. I am sure they both will purchase other Bird Buddy feed types. It's a really cool gift.

I got the solar version of this item, and I absolutely LOVE it. Crystal clear photos of my birds, AI bird (and animal) recognition, great battery life (like literally months, maybe I would never have to charge it if it was placed with the solar panel facing south, but mine is in indirect sunlight). It's super cute, fast and easy to assemble, with lots of features on the app - which YES, you do have to pay for the app, but I think that's worth it for all they give you. I've had mine for about 6 months now and it's fun to watch - I check it daily, it tells me what birds came to visit and I even get to name them.Now...why did I deduct a star? Well, 2 reasons: First the capacity of the feeder is rather small. I have to refill it almost EVERY DAY as the birds can go through all the seed in a day or sometimes 2 days at most. Second, because of the shape of the perch, the birds tend to leave behind the shells of the black sunflower seeds I put in there, so I'm constantly dumping and cleaning the perch. I suppose it really does have to be designed that way in order to get good photos of the birds though. The fill hatch can be a bit hard to open as well. But that aside, I haven't seen anything on the market as cool as this for bird lovers.

I surprised my husband with this bird feeder and I have never seen someone so happy with a purchase before. This feeder is amazing and the images are crystal clear. the set up was a little bit of a challenge but we’ve dealt with worse. We are having a lot of fun naming the birds that come to this feeder and now have 4 family members who are going to buy this bird feeder as well. 10/10, 5 stars, 100% worth the money. ☺️

I accidentally left it out during a tornado watch and it held up fine. It's easy to refill. Solar charger is effective and I haven't had to plug it in to a wall charger since I first set it up. You can have up to 10 friends connect to see your bird buddy pictures. My grandma loves seeing the photos and videos. It would be great for a person with mobility struggles to still enjoy bird watching.

I would highly recommend this company and I love my Bird Buddy.I enjoy seeing all the different types of birds visiting. I purchased this last November 2024 and this month June 2025 the WIfi Cable broke and I sent email and pictures and they were very responsive and have sent out a new cable free of charge.
