Nice story which engenders an imaginative questioning approach to the world Review: Gorgeous illustrations and quirky fun - Beautiful book - I love it but my 3yo isn’t quite into it just yet. Something deep explained in fun and simple ways
Really refreshing and I love the idea of exploring something beyond the obvious. This was a great tool to help me plant a seed in my children's mind about lateral thinking

Shisuke Yoshitake is a gifted writer and illustrator. There is really nothing like his books. What Happens Next? is a remarkable book about death. It Might Be an Apple really teaches kids to be imaginative. The latest is is The I Wonder Bookstore. It is a bit more advanced in language and concepts but my six year old son loves it! In fact, he has read all of Mr. Yoshitake’s books that have been translated into English dozens of times. Every book is full of wonder and imagination and humor and I hear my son cackle with delight every time he reads these books. We just pre-ordered the next book (The Boring Book). All of these books are a treasure.

Not the best translation in some spots, especially the censoring of the panel where the tipsy dad brings home the apple, but the book is so great that there's no need to split hairs about that.

Amazing book about creativity and perspective. Found it in a lovely museum in Kanazawa, Japan and bought it when I got back home. Really love it.
