Vu+ Uno 4K SE Full HD Noir

I spent quite a while researching twin tuner satellite receivers and after a lot of deliberation I decided to buy this receiver. So far I am very pleased with it. I have reflashed it with Open ATV and a Wooshbuild Sky skin and it works brilliantly. Very easy to reflash, very fast at updating EPG and the picture quality is excellent in 4k. I also love the fact that it has 8 demodulators so as long as you have a twin lnb feed it can record up to 8 channels at once. No worries about program clashes.

Came with European 2 pin lead. Needed to get an IEC C7 UK Mains Plug to Figure 8 lead. Unit worked out of the box with no problem. Once it was set up, I then installed OpenViX (an Enigma 2 Firmware) There is a steep learning curve to get the most out of OpenVix and the VU+ box. Lots & lots of menus and choices. But I am very satisfied with it.

I have always been so happy to have a VU+. It works so well, and I have had no problems so far. I have used other STBs but this is the best so far as it is so easy to flash or update. NO fidgeting with power and reset buttons like the Zgemmas. This is more and far better box.

Just a quick message to all buyers of vu boxes or dreamboxes ...you must understand these machines are for enthusiasts...please do not purchase these if you have know knowledge ...they really are very good boxes ..hope my info helps ...

Amazon managed to fail to deliver this item twice and then can you imagine when despite extensive research on the web and following the instructions to the letter, the machine fails to boot up properly then decides it will switch itself off on startup and not let me do a thing. In my opinion the manufacturers need to look at the software and ensure it is more reliable. I will be letting them know what I think. I have ordered another to see if I was just unlucky and hopefully will have more success. I will update this review at a later date to let you know how the second receiver performed. That is of course if Amazon actually manage to deliver on time. Update!! The new Vu+Uno 4K SE Box arrived after a 24 hour delay. To the uninitiated this is rather like an old "DOS" PC. There is NOTHING on it, it is virtually useless unless you load an operating system on to it. This you will have to spend ages reading up on and trawling through endless pages and joining endless forums to get anywhere. When you have exhausted 24 hours plugged into the Vu Box and computer, (you do need both of them together with you in the same room) you may like me actually get somewhere. Sadly a lot of the nerds that are in to this it seems want to keep this all to themselves and any real help is in short supply except for the kind individuals that have actually write article to help people like me and you. Much to my delight I ended up getting the box to work and receive satellite signals and finally switched the thing off after a long day. Next morning I switched the thing back on again to refine my channel menu and guess what?? The wretched thing crashed. It lost its ability to behave in any sensible way it stopped being able to move or recognise satellite positions or scan any satellites at all. It totally wiped out all my previously stored satellite positions so I had to spend ages out in the garden re calibrating my positioner. In short it was a total waste of time and a disaster from start to finish. A complete factory reset failed to remedy any of the issues, so now it is going back yet again!! I said it was rather like and old "DOS" based PC and I was not joking they were awful and unreliable and this in my opinion is no better!!

Solo l'imballo è leggermente usurato ma il decoder non ha un graffio anzi ha ancora la pellicola originale sul display. Spedizione Amazon come sempre di alto livello. Decoder con sistema operativo Linux e quindi altamente personalizzabile. Slot common interface che con il giusto plugin consente di utilizzare cam + card 4k. Ha un hardware di ottimo livello che consente di utilizzarlo anche come un Nas, considerando che ha uno slot plug&play per l'installazione di un hard disk senza necessità di aprire il decoder. Gestione delle registrazioni perfetta, dotato di due tuner di tipo fbc s2x, se utilizzate un LNB SCR praticamente avrete pienamente disponibili 2 tuner fisici + 6 virtuali, si possono fare almeno 5 registrazioni in contemporanea su canali diversi. Qualità delle immagini molto buona parliamo di un decoder 4k con una risoluzione fino a 2160p. È un prodotto che richiede conoscenze informatiche avanzate perché vá configurato a dovere e per questo motivo ne sconsiglio l'acquisto a coloro che amano il tutto pronto e subito.

Das originale Image, also Benutzeroberfläche, taugt wirklich nichts. Sieht alt aus und bietet nur wenig Spielraum bei eher besonderen Konfigurationswünschen. Darum kam bei meinen Boxen als erstes das OpenATV-Image 6.3 drauf. Einfach runterladen, entpacken und den Ordner auf einen USB-Stick kopieren. Box neu starten und die Meldung auf dem Bildschirm beachten. Nach dem Neustart der Box mit dem neuen Image wird man mit einem durchaus verständlichen Assistenten durch die Erstinstallation geleitet. Darum beschreibe ich hier eher die Besonderheiten... Wenn man mehr will als nur Standard lohnt es, sich nach Infos im Netz zu suchen. Viele gute Foren sind einem Neuling behilflich die Box möglichst voll auszuschöpfen. So z.B. schaue ich mittlerweile auch auf meinem Handy, Netbook oder auch mittels Amazon FireTV Stick auf der ganzen Welt fern - nur über MEINE VU+ Uno 4K - während meine bessere Hälfte Zuhause ganz normal ihre Programme schauen kann. Das alles und noch viel mehr ist machbar und kostet nur ein paar Euro für die Plugins am Handy und FireTV Stick (dreamPlayer nennt sich die App). So versorge ich auch das TV-Gerät im Schlafzimmer und brauche keinen Antennenanschluss und keine zusätzliche Hardware. Voraussetzung ist, die Box muss sich logischerweise zumindest im Standby-Modus befinden. Die Benutzeroberfläche des von mir verwendeten OpenATV bietet unglaublich viele Einstellungsmöglichkeiten mit der sich die Box extrem gut an persönliche Wünsche anpassen lassen. Die zahlreichen Plugins haben es ebenfalls in Sich und lässt (zumindest bei mir) keine Wünsche offen. Selbst meine Reolink Überwachungskammara habe ich so (via PiP) immer im Blick wenn ich das möchte. Oder auch die Mediathek ist extrem vielfältig, genau so wie die zahlreichen anderen nützlichen anderen Plugins. Auch das Wetter an meinem Standort wird mir beim umschalten oder auch auf den Druck der OK-Taste angezeigt, samt den Sendungsinfos. HbbTV ist sowieso Standard... Mittlerweile habe ich für wenig Geld auf einen Unicable-LNB umgerüstet und so kann ich alle 8 Tuner mit nur einem Antennenkabel von der Schüssel ohne durchschleifen mit nur einem Anschluss bedienen. Aufnehmen und gleichzeitig mehrere Programme (z.B. an verschiedenen Geräten) ansehen - alles kein Problem mehr. Auch das Editieren von Senderlisten und konfigurieren der Box über PC funktioniert richtig toll. Über 1300 Sender (Astra19°) an der Box zu editieren ist nämlich ein Horror. Mit Dream-Box-Edit funktioniert das im Handumdrehen. Und das alles über das heimische Netzwerk. Es hat sich wirklich viel getan und macht Spaß, die verschiedenen Möglichkeiten auszureizen. Mann muss dafür kein Freak sein, jedoch Geduld und etwas technischen Verständnis sind von Vorteil. Dann hat man mit den VU-Boxen ein tolles Gerät, mit dem Nützliches unglaublich viel möglich ist. Ja, die Box ist mir innert einem halben Jahr auch schon mal abgeschmiert und musste durch den Ein-Ausschalter am Gerät neu gestartet werden. Das passiert und empfinde ich als keinen Qualitätsmangel. Beim normalen Betrieb / schauen war das jedoch nie der Fall. Das Netzwerk lässt sich sehr vielfältig konfigurieren, sowohl mittels W-Lan als auch über RJ45. Damit können auch Inhalte von NAS wieder gegeben und auch darauf aufgezeichnet werden. Auch HDMI-CEC funktioniert in Verbindung mit meinen älteren Philips und einem neuen Pioneer 7.1 AV-Receiver zuverlässig. Box einschalten, Fernseher und AV-Receiver schalten automatisch ein und auch wieder aus. Sehr praktisch! Lichtleiterausgang, 2x USB 3.0, 1x HDMI-In, Plug and Play-2,5 Zoll HDD-Steckplatz, RJ45 Netzwerkkabel inkl. konfigurierbaren und scharfen Farbdisplay und CI+ Steckplatz runden den sehr guten Gesamteindruck der VU+ Uno 4K SE perfekt ab. Nicht zu vergessen die praktische Fernbedienung die übersichtlich und deren Tasten auch frei belegbar sind, gehören dazu. Bild und Ton sind für mich perfekt! Noch habe ich keinen 4K Fernseher. Kommt aber auch noch. Auch die SD-Programme werden wirklich klar und in sehr guter Qualität ausgegeben - HD sowieso. Testhalber auch mal die SoftCams auf der Box probiert - auch diese funktionieren perfekt und entschlüsseln ohne Störungen. YouTube zusammen mit meiner Tastatur Logitech K400r ist ein Genuss. Funktioniert wirklich gut. Einzig die Anordnung der beiden USB-Stecklätze an der Rückseite sind etwas eng verbaut. Habe einfach eine kurze 10 cm USB-Verlängerung gelöst. Auch nicht zu vergessen, die Box läuft lautlos und wird gerade mal Handwarm. Der beigelegte Infrarotempfänger benötigt man im Normalfall nicht da die Fernbedienung auch ohne diesen sehr gut funktioniert. Wer sich für eine VU+ Zero entscheidet (ohne Display, etwas kleiner, keinen HDD-Steckplatz, nur 1 USB-Anschluss, nur einen Tuner, eben etwas abgespeckt), wird diese vielleicht unsichtbar integrieren wollen. Dann macht das Empfängerauge sicher Sinn. Die VU+ Uno 4K SE ist ihr Geld absolut Wert! Insbesondere für die Leute, die mehr als nur normales Fernsehen wollen. Für alle anderen gibt es die VU+ Zero 4K bei der Preis-Leitung ebenfalls stimmig sind. Das ist jedenfalls mein Fazit nach etwas über einem halben Jahr mit der VU+ Uno 4K SE wie auch mit der Zero 4K in SAT- und Kabelversion. Hoffe, konnte Euch etwas neugierig machen und wünsche schon jetzt viel Freude damit :-)

Récepteur de bonne fabrication (impression de solidité) Utilisation simple et télécommande intuitive. Tuner FBC d'une excellente sensibilité, le zapping et (re)démarrage sont rapides ! Grande facilité de changement du logiciel ( qui est lui même expérimental) et de gestion via l'interface web. ... bref un récepteur à recommander !
