Didn't work straight out of the box, but opened it up and took the batteries out/in and worked fine. The plastic pin needs a reasonable pull to activate the alarm. I wanted it as an intruder alarm for a tent and found that the pin can be positioned for a hair trigger such as a slight pull on a bag or tent zip. Seems sturdy enough and makes quite a noise

Very happy with the sound and convenient size of this product.Fits in your pocket while not adding any real bulk to your keys.I have not had to use it yet but I would imagine it is most handy for repelling dogs.Along with giving you the extra moment of disorientation of attackers needed to getaway. Or at least get a head start.

When I received this item I decided to test it. Nothing. So I dismantled the alarm to access the batteries to see if there was a plastic tab that needed to be removed. Nope. I then took the batteries out and reassembled the alarm. Works fine! So, please test the alarm when you get it. I would have been mightily miffed if I hadm't tested it and found it not working in an emergency. Once working it's a great product for the price. A small amount to pay for peace of mind.

Don’t wast money on an expensive shed alarm. This couple with two nails with do the job perfectly.That is assuming you remember it is attached to the door. Me, I just throw the door open ever time and spend the next minute trying to insert the little peg back in while blinded by immense ear piercing noise. I was thinking of putting a reminder on the door but I think that will only Benifit billy burglar.On the upside it gives you a warm fuzzy feeling inside when the neighbours come out to make sure you are ok.... they do care after all.... well the first few times. On number 25 I think they started to believe I was attention seeking.Worth the couple of quid it cost... need a better memory to improve it.

I use one of these as a door alarm on touring caravan. Now have static van so bought this.Fasten one end to hook on door frame, loop cord around the door handle. You open door a couple of inches and unhook the cord.Unauthorised trespasser opens the door and off it goes. Simple and effective.

EXCELLENT 100% AFTER SERVICE. Firstly I received product within 2 days just before Xmas, however the battery seemed faulty which I understand cannot always be determined. After my posting a comment here late at night, within minutes I received a personalised very kind and apologetic email together with a remedy of them sending new batteries and further info on how to do it. I DID NOT EXPECT SUCH A GOOD SERVICE SO WOULD SAY DO NOT BE DETERRED IF THINGS DO NOT GO 100%. It is nice to know some companies do care - I needed this product and their other 3 functional spray alarm which gives out a really stinky odour = enough to put off any cowardly attacker, after I was scared to death a week before Christmas by such a person - I though I had got over a previous one a few years ago. Woman and the elderly, should always be prepared, especialy if walking dogs, wherever you are, as they come in all disguises.

Nice and loud. Don’t change the batteries though as it fiddly and whilst I did one on the wires broke. Also there are 3 batteries in the unit and they are sold by Duracell in packs of TWO so double the cost. Use it until the batteries fail then buy another.
