Fantastic quality 1 person tent
The tent comes in a spacious carry bag that you fold over the top and connect the clips and can be used as a carry handle also.Upon opening there are 3 parts the tent/hammock, insulating fly sheet and the kit bag, inside the kit bag you will find poles, pegs, adjustable tree straps, 2x carabiners & spare guy lines, the materials used are very good quality and have a premium feel/look to everything, the poles are light and made from aluminium, the tent pegs are also v shape and made from aluminium and anodised orange that I particularly like, there are instructions included to get you started with images showing each setup, there is also an online video. The tent bag with everything in weighs in at just over 3kg so a tad heavier than stated, this will be noticeable on long treks, if you plan on taking everything, if you plan on sleeping on the ground you can leave the end supports and straps if weight is an issue. The tent itself is simple to put up on the ground with only 2 poles used and held in place well when placed in the end straps due to notches on the end of them, everything is secured in place for ease of setup including the groundsheet and the bug mesh, inside there are pockets for your bits and bobs and you can either enter from the sides or the top, I like the zip feature to add another single tent to the side to combine them to make a 2 person tent, the guy lines are nicely coloured and easy to adjust, there is space inside to store your rucksack safely also.Setting the hammock up takes a bit of practice between two trees, the gap range should be between 3.5meters and 5.5 meters, with the previous version Crua had the spreader bars on the outside and now with this version they are located on the inside on the ends of a stitched pocket one side and a Velcro pocket on the other, whilst this is a great idea to save weight if not in use I feel that the bars are too long and put strain on the stitching! Maybe reduce the length of the bars by 10mm they would work much better, the ropes are a bit of a pain setting up as the slip knots don’t hold in place individually and put extra stress on the loops, but once secured in the sweet spot inside is very comfy. The insulated fly sheet is fantastic and works really well offering 5000mm of water repellent, it’s aluminium lined for warmth, I don’t have this on my other tents so this is noticeable to me.Overall this is a fantastic quality product with lots of thought gone into the design, a few tweaks here and there and I would be more confident using as a hammock more often. Thank you

Nice idea but fails as a hammock
The idea was great but it just couldn’t be pitched as hammock tent as you couldn’t a) get enough tension on it to support any weight b) enough tension without weight to stop the fly sheet zip opening. The were very poor instructions and seemed to relate more to it being used on the ground. If you wanted a ground tent you could get better for much less.We had it pitched around 4 ft off the ground and when we attempted to sit into it we were straight on the floor . And when we then tightened things up it still didn’t help and flysheet would not stay closed. After this the shape of the tent was distorted to. It’s definitely not light weight but the bag supplied was a good size. The pegs were a bit dangerous as if you were to use you foot or hand to push into the ground you could do yourself an injury. So you would need a mallet so more weight. Only 1 extra guys supplied for steadying once pitched too. Nice idea but needs to go back to drawing board .

Brilliant concept and product cant wait for future versions
What a really good product maybe reinforce the base or have extra thick base with reinforced weave so it don't sag as the material stretches as a tent perfect but as a hammock ..mmm maybe more work 4 stars... cant wait for my first extreme camp out to put this product through its paces

Great build and awesome company
I have not slept in the hammock yet, but I did find it to be a very good hammock. It is small and lightweight, and easy to setup (tried in my living room). The most satisfying part for the hammock was Crua’s customer communication.I got this hammock for my upcoming camping kayak trip in December. Due to international shipping disasters, I got this hammock so late. During that time, Crua’s communication was excellent although it was busy the year end holiday season. Thus, I had to cancel the order, and got my refund. However, shortly after I got the refund, I have received the hammock also. Since I had to get another hammock for my trip, I no longer needed the Crua’s hammock, and want to return the hammock. However, Crua told me to keep the hammock although the late shipping was not their fault at all. I think Crua puts the customer satisfaction at the highest priority.Highly recommend this company!

Not really a Hybrid Tet
I bought this to use on a two month kayak trip to British Columbia where I will need to set up in some places that you can only use a hammock and some places that require a self standing tent. The Crua works well as a hammock but still has alot of sag despite the crossbars. On the ground, its essentially a bivvy sack - I was unable to sit up inside it. It is waterproof, but you get the usual condensation problems that occur with a small one person shelter. Its a pretty good hammock shelter, but its not really functional as a ground tent.

Hot!
This thing is the hottest tent I've ever had but I absolutely love it, I took it to Caddo lake TX and experienced an intense thunder storm in it my first night.
