SKS Longboard Mudguard Set: Black, 35mm/28"

I bought these mudguards to avoid the inevitable spattering of mud which covers the bike when riding on mucky country roads in the winter.They are designed to use with road bikes with sufficient fork and frame clearance.I did have some difficulty fitting the front guard because the slot in the stainless steel bracket which attaches the guard to the fork was too short, that was solved by making the slot longer using a round file. Then I was able to push the guard right up into the fork thus giving sufficient clearance.The mudguards are highly effective for keeping the bike and myself relatively clean. Really good investment.

The fitting instructions are poor and it's very hard to see which bolts are intended to go where. One of the bolts wasn't long enough to properly attach the front guard, fortunately I had a longer one that fit. The material of the front guard was slightly bent (They're very thin and bendy) and was touching the tyre, couldn't get it to straighten out.I won't be using these.

This is a good quality product but unfortunately my set arrived with the rear guard bridging bracket missing and had some scuff marks on them.

Das Resultat vorweg: die Schutzbleche sind top! Ich habe mich erst von den durchwachsenen Rezensionen verunsichern lassen, bin jetzt aber froh die Dinger gekauft zu haben. Aus zwei Gründen: 1. Ich habe einen Fahrradanhänger und will ihn nicht bei Regen vollspritzen (deswegen die Longboard) und 2. Ich wollte mir die Optik von meinem Cross-Bike nicht versauen (deswegen die 35er). Ich fahre 32mm Marathon Supreme und die 35er Bleche passen super. Knackpunkt bei den Longboards: die Montage verlangt Improvisation und handwerkliches Geschick. Ich vermute mal, dass sie bei jedem Fahrrad etwas anders ist. Ich habe z.B. ein zweites Loch in das Schutzblech gebohrt und ein weiteres in den Abstandhalter, um das hintere Longboard an der Strebe hinter dem Tretlager zu befestigen. Weiterhin braucht man eine kleine Metallsäge, um die Streben zu kürzen. Die Longboards sind fest und den beschriebenen Lämmerschwanz kann ich nicht bestätigen.

Le produit est parfait. Mis sur du 32 c'est effectivement un peu étroit (le montage doit être soigné sinon cela frotte). Mais je vais redescendre à 28 de section donc cela sera parfait. Les garde boues sont trés enveloppants et descendent bien bas, impossible de faire mieux. Personnellement j'ai formé les triangles pour contourner les étriers de frein à disque et le rendu est propre. Unefois montés ils ne bougent pas, c'est une tuerie. Ne seul bémol vientt de l'état du produit à l'arrivée. Amazon ne doit pas en vendre tous les jours et les miens sont arrivés pleins de poussières et avec quelques marques superficielles (rien de gênant pour mon usage). Sinon tout était complet donc rien à dire sur ce point. C'est le produit ultime.

Schutzbleche sind Ok, super Flexibel - die halten sicher lange. Jedoch die Montage ist furchtbar, also nur zu empfehlen wer etwas Geschick und sehr gutes Werkzeug (VA Stahl Seitenschneider) hat.

After fitting them I was rather infuriated at the unnecessarily awkward installation, but they seemed decent once they were on, and thought they were worth ~4 stars. Now, Having ridden them on wet roads my opinion has dropped significantly to barely-3.For the sake of appearance the metal brackets for the stays are *inside* the fender. The causes heavy drops of dirty water to spray out sideways at those two points, much of it aimed straight at your feet. This is not a problem with long Aluminium fenders I have used on other bikes for years, but these Longboards are fundamentally flawed, and the result is dirty wet feet. A probable improvement would be to put (duct?) tape on the inside, over the brackets - preferably when they're brand new and clean.Edit: The tape fix to the above does indeed work. I fixed duct tape to a completely clean fender and the spray onto my toes is stopped - best to do this before fitting the fenders. I'd suggest a thorough scrubbing with soap off the bike, followed by cleaning with alcohol. Alternatively, something more permanent with epoxy might make sense...I now have a short commute and typically watch the weather radar to ride between the showers, so often it's not raining but the roads are very wet. Good fenders are invaluable for this, since you can wear normal clothes, no waterproofs, and stay dry and comfortable.The mudflaps also protrude inside the fender meaning they need more clearance from the tire than the rest of the fender.On the plus side they look quite smart, seem easy enough to keep silent, and seem fairly robust.If you do still want them, allow 2 hours for unnecessarily awkward fitting, and expect to swear.

Garde-boue bien enveloppants. Ils descendent très bas et c'est ce que je recherchais.Installation pas très compliquée, tout la visserie est incluse.Efficaces, silencieux, discrets. A recommander.Valables pour les pneus jusqu'à 700x28c et moins. Pour les pneus plus larges, prendre la version en 45mm de largeur.
