A Nice Target, and A Good Value.
This review is for the 3-layer DOSTYLE archery target. First of all, it shipped really fast. I had it within three days. The dimensions are pretty much as described, around 20 inches in diameter and a little under two and a half inches thick. My target weighs exactly four and three-quarter pounds, which is considerably less than a six-pack of long-necks (I checked). The ribbon for suspension seems a little flimsy, but it works. The target is made of thick ropes of some kind of grass or palm fronds, tightly coiled and stitched together with heavy thread. Interestingly, the colored rings on the face of the target were made by wrapping the ropes for those coils with thin, colored fabric. I am aware of other types of Asian archery targets which were made this way, so I guess it is a traditional technique. The sticker that was on the enormous zipper-baggie in which the target came indicated it was made in China, and somewhere I read that it was made by farmers. Small farmers are having a rough go of it these days, and if they can make effective, biodegradable archery targets in their off season, I am glad to support them. Setting the target up was easy. I borrowed three 7-foot bean poles from the garden and made a tripod, then hung the target from one of the poles. I tried it out with my 39# wood/glass longbow, shooting Victory VForce carbon arrows with standard 125 grain field points. The arrows made a gratifyingly loud smack when they hit the target. These arrows protruded out the back of the target from 3 to 6 inches, but they were not difficult to pull with bare hands. If I had researched the target more thoroughly prior to ordering, I would have found the manufacturer's recommendations, which stated the 3-layer target (like mine) is for bows under 30 pounds. I should have gotten the 5-layer target, which was rated for bows of 30-40 pounds. The 7-layer target is recommended for bows over 40 pounds. That was my fault, but in any event, this target is stopping my arrows, at least for now. When it is finally shot-out, I expect it will make a dandy and very unique seat cushion. Meanwhile, I ordered a 7-layer target to keep in reserve. Included with the target is an instruction sheet, delightfully translated from the original language into German and English. Along with the cleverly worded safety instructions, the archer is admonished to "Enjoy your happy time." From reading previous reviews, it appears other customers did as I did and bought a target that was not really thick enough for the poundages they were shooting. Please take that into consideration when selecting a target. Also, I do believe this target will need to be stored indoors and protected from wetting, but it is lightweight and easy to deploy when needed. It stops arrows, looks good, is reasonably priced, and is biodegradable. I am enjoying my happy time with it.

Well made and durable
Fabulous target for recurve shooting with cedar arrows or carbon fiber arrows and field points. Stops the arrows, durable and large enough to hit with a recurve at 30 yards.

Good Target, But You Might Need a Backstop!
This Dostyle Archery Target is well-made and durable, great for practicing with traditional bows and lower-poundage compound bows. The material is solid, and it holds up well to repeated shots. The size is good for aiming practice, and the design is simple but effective. However, arrows can pass through, especially if you're using higher-poundage bows or sharp broadheads. I’d definitely recommend placing something behind it, like a hay bale or a foam backstop, to prevent arrows from going too far. Overall, a solid target for the price, just be mindful of arrow penetration!

Be a good shot to hit it. It's not the size of a barn.
For me it was a little small. But that also depends on how good you are with a bow and arrow. I was not sufficiently good that I was comfortable using in my back yard. Not the fault the target. It stopped target tips easily. Not terribly heavy. I have no complaints with the material or craftsmanship.

Fantastic! strong and durable but easy to move
This target can take a beating and still hold up! I shoot about a hundred and twenty arrows, five times a week, minimum. Some of my arrows go pretty far in (I have the five layer) and it takes me putting my foot against the target to pull them out, and it is still virtually new in appearance after a couple thousand arrows! Even better, though, is that it is easy to move. The string that comes with it is a little flimsy, and had I kept hanging it from trees it probably would have given out by now, but I set the target on various stacks of wood throughout my practice realm, so I only use the string to carry it. The square targets on the market are awkward and difficult to shift; this is so simple. I recommend this in every way. I have had only a few incidents of the arrows bouncing off; generally I think it's when I have weak power or hit just exactly at a wrong angle. I do shoot a lot at angles, trying to mimic "real life" encounters, so perhaps with a dead on impact the curve of each strand of rope would be too tough to penetrate without a lot of force, but for me, a fifty year old fit woman shooting at distances from 30 feet to 300 yards, it's been perfect!

Rain ended it....
keep out of the rain, put it on a target holder. Letting hang from the hanging ribbon will eventually pull the ropes till they stretch apart, Plus it will mold if kept in the rain to much. But still has great arrow retention.

I’ve been using this bow and arrow target for a few weeks now, and overall, it performs well. It’s the perfect size for practicing both short and medium-range shots, and it holds up nicely against most of my arrows without any major damage. The surface is good at stopping arrows and makes retrieval pretty easy, which is important for keeping practice efficient and enjoyable. One thing I appreciate is that it’s lightweight enough to move around easily, but still stable enough not to tip over with regular use. The target markings are clear and help with aiming, which is great for improving accuracy. That said, I’ve noticed that after extended use, some areas of the target are starting to wear down, and I’m not sure how it will hold up over the long term. If you shoot very frequently or with heavy draw weights, you might find it wears out a bit faster than expected. Also, it could be a bit thicker to improve durability. Overall, it’s a reliable and effective target for beginners and intermediate archers, and the price is reasonable. I’m happy with my purchase but would give it 5 stars if it lasted longer without showing signs of wear.
