The chips are small, but put off the desired smoke. Small chips are great for electric smokers where the smoke point can take awhile. Small chips, however, don't last as long. Luckily, I purchased these for a Charbroil electric smoker. The chips put off a distinct hickory wood smell-they are not weak scented like some major competitors. I will be purchasing again. If you are a fan of strong smelling smoke infused in your meat, I've also tried their Mesquite and they are small chips also, but amazing and even stronger smelling.

Need more flavor burns out to fast but it smells good and need to last longer

I use these to mix with other wood spicies pellets on a Traeger. I'm in Florida and it is humid here.These pellets stay nice and hard even after months of storage.

I've had an electric smoker for a few years. Until now I've been making my own chips from cherry and oak cutoffs in my workshop. I decided to buy these so I could try different wood and to reduce the amount of prep time. I did a batch of Boston butts today and I am pleased with these chips. They started smoking quickly and have performed well throughout the smoke. Based on how much I have left I think a bag will last for 4 to 6 smokes at least.

You use a lot of wood. It’s not very flavorful. You really need to soak the wool or it burns up in minutes

It’s a great size bag of chips! Don’t soak them if you’re using them on a gas or propane grill & you’ll get fabulous smoke! Made delicious salmon tonight!

Great flavour, bag was a lot bigger than picture looks..although it already stated the weight, I guess amount and size are related for my monkey brain, but to be fair these are wood chips not compressed, so there should be lots of volume as well..so I am now a pleased brain monkey. Looks like it should last 4-10 bbq's based on how much I fill my smoker. Should cost less for a bag of chips left over from wood manufacturing, I don't see producers felling hickory trees just for the smoker..thank God, so how about charging a little less. However, the product is 5 stars.

small dusty chips with great aroma.

Lovìng the chips. Have used it with steaks, chicken and burgers so far. Adds a really nice rich, deep flavour to the smoke.
