I had a Stanley set before that compares very poorly with this. The chrome finish is superb, and so the ratchet tool. All fits neatly in its slot. Top of the line.

I have acquired a few of these socket sets over the years, but all from no name or budget brands. You know how it is when you need a certain size and you see the set on sale for barely more than one good socket, you just buy the cheap set. Then one breaks or you loose one and the cycle goes on and on. So, when I saw an opportunity to get a Dewalt set, I jumped at it. I have been using Dewalt cordless tools for years, but never got any of the hand tools. What a treat this is a fantastic set.I will not go over what comes in the set as you can clearly see that in the description. One thing worth mentioning though is that the ratchet handle is fairly long for good leverage and works very smoothly, you do not need a lot of room to make a full rotation of the nut or bolt you are trying to loosen or tighten. This is especially handy when working on cars and trucks. The button on top of the ratchet releases the socket very easily and the forward/reverse lever works great. It is a little difficult to operate with fat fingers, but it does work. The set comes in a plastic blow mold case which holds all the pieces securely. The deep sockets are a pain to get out of the case, but I just keep a 3" nail in the case to pry the stubborn sockets out as needed. The latches on the case are metal and should last for a long time, unlike the cheap plastic latches that break or stop working after a period of time.I just received this set a few days ago and already put it to use working on my truck. I needed to tighten the bolts that hold my bed cover on and you have to do that from inside the bed and there is not a lot of room. This set worked perfectly for that operation. I also had to change out my taillights on my truck, but found out they were cracked and had to put the old ones back in.I am very happy I have this tool set from Dewalt and can definitely recommend it for any DIYer, handy man, or back yard mechanic. This set would fine for a professional also since it has a lifetime guaranty, which I did not know about until seeing it on the cardboard spacer inside. This is a great set, and I am sure you will not regret this purchase.....

It is tough to compare tools set as different manufacturers will provide different tools in their respective kits. However, comparing tool for tool, these Dewalt tools appear every bit as impressive as my Craftsman sets. The sockets and ratchet are very similar in feel and appearance. The assortment provided by the Dewalt set is impressive, including common extension sizes, spark plug sockets and a driver handle. I do wish they’d decided to include a 1/4 ratchet for the 1/4” sockets, rather than the 3/8”-to-1/4” adapter, but for <$70 I suspect they had to make some compromise about inclusion because there is no compromise in quality of the tools provided. The product is thinner in thickness wise, but seems to still be built for toughness we shall see going forward with such projects?

I love this socket set. It's well made and seems built to last. Case is nice quality as well with nice latches. I love that it also has deep sockets. I've gotten plenty of se out of this set already and know that I'll use it a lot in the future as well.

Dewalt always seems to be in the big three of any type of tool. This socket set is no different. The sockets are high quality. The ratchet has a fine gearing so the slightest movement of the ratchet progresses the socket. I also appreciate that this comes with both sized plug sockets. An important item often left out of mediocre sets. The case is tough and the buckles/clasps are good quality too.This is the perfect homeowners set and should last a lifetime. It also comes with a good warranty. You can't go wrong with the Dewalt brand. Very pleased.
