Great for teaching conceptual understanding of regrouping algorithms, and for other purposes.
Bought these after considering traditional base ten blocks and found the ability to compose and decompose units to ten rods and back again, and similarly stack ten rods together to form a hundred flat (or break it down again to rods) something we wanted for teaching regrouping according to place value, both for addition/subtraction, and multiplication/division. These interlockable blocks are also great for teaching surface area and volume and fractions, decimals, and percents.Kudos for Amazon's customer service also: our order came without the book, but an online chat with a representative resolved the issue nicely. The activity book has many of the same activities from the ETA Cuisenaire Super Source books, but in a more condensed form with instructions for use that are more concise and easy to apply. The activity book includes blackline masters for activities, and each lesson has a description for the teacher on the left page along with standards covered and materials list, and the reproducible activity sheet to hand out to students, on the right. It also organizes activities by the grade ranges of K-2, 3-4, and 5-6, which means the set is useful for many different ages and stays useful for many years. As to the quality of the blocks, and I was concerned after reading reviews, but my blocks are well-made, seem sturdy and precisely molded, and the individual units are a cubic centimeter. They can go together either loosely or tightly, but I recommend attaching them loosely when joining them together, to make them easier to separate again. The hundreds flats do come snapped together quite tightly to form a second perfect thousand cub, and a Lego separator or other thin, flat, rigid device may help pry them apart that first time. Thereafter, I don't attach them perfectly, but loosely, so as to avoid that problem when taking them apart. The thousand cube that is not made of hundred flats, seems molded in one piece (there was no removable lid as one customer showed, so the manufacturing seems to have improved) and quite sturdy, and reasonably heavy though not as heavy as the cube that can be made from hundreds flats. As others have warned, these don't have rounded corners. They appear molded precisely and with very square, sharp corners, so dropping one on a bare foot would probably hurt. Some have mentioned it being difficult to put the set back in the storage tub, but I didn't find it hard, so long as you arrange the tens rods with the same endwise orientation they arrived in, and keep the thousand block in the center of the lid. I keep my unit cubes and tens rods in the same small ziplock baggies they came in, for ease of keeping track of them and packing them away in the storage tub. My tub's lid was clear, not blue as shown. But it works.I really like how this set teaches the teacher, quickly and clearly, by describing the activities briefly and then getting on with it.A good textbook or curriculum that features using base ten blocks to demonstrate the physical reality of the regrouping algorithm (what some call "carrying" or "borrowing" but that is more accurately called "composing and decomposing higher and lower orders of value" by Liping Ma) in both multiplication/division, and in addition/subtraction, will also pair nicely with these.

Affordable, simple, well made manipulative.
These manipulative base ten blocks are extremely helpful in working through larger math problems or visualizing word problems. We bought them to use when my son began addition and was struggling to understand carrying to a new place value. They helped him to visualize what was happening as he counted and began addition. The blocks are very simple and sturdy. They are not fancy but when working with math, you don't need fancy and distracting. The "ones" are very small so they should not be used for small children. There is a large block to represent 1000 but it is nice that there are also 10 sheets of 100 so that you can create another 1000 block or add to it. Gives more dimension to what is in 1000 than just the empty large block.Overall, great and affordable manipulative for the parent, teacher, or home-schooler when you want something visual to aid in problems.

Very good
Interlox Base Ten Blocks arrived quickly and were well packaged in the container. I like the fact that the blocks can stack together but some of them are hard to connect/pull apart. It is also difficult to make all of them fit in their original container without applying a strategy to the placement of the blocks. They are well made and I enjoy the activity book that comes along with it. This has helped my stepson learn to count his ones, fives and tens. Great for visual learners, but can be a bit of a distraction for fidgety kids. Overall, good product.

Love that they fit together
This has been a great resource for our home school math. These link together much like legos. They are easy to take apart and are sturdy. The book that comes with the set is full of helpful games. The box is not stellar. Ours broke, but it is an easy replacement.

I love these base 10 blocks
As a former elementary teacher, I love these base 10 blocks. I am homeschooling my two sons currently ages 2.5 and almost 5 (one more month to go). My almost 5-year-old is working on a 1st grade level in math and these blocks are perfect for teaching him place value, math facts, and skip counting by tens. He can already do the math facts and skip counting, but now he can visually see what is happening. My 2.5-year-old promptly started putting the ones blocks tougher and counting. He is just grasping the the tens blocks have ten ones blocks in them. My favorite part of these blocks is that the ones stack together creating one whole.

Great set of Base Ten Blocks.....one of the best out there for the price.
This really is an awesome set. The pieces fit and stay together perfectly. Price on this set is fantastic! It is a very large set and some great number combinations can be made with it. There are enough 100 blocks to easily build a additional 1000 unit cube. This is great when your numbers jump up to 2000. We got this set for you our 1st grader and preschooler. Our first grader was having issues when sums over 1000 resulted in the 100's place having a "0" (ex 980 + 80). This set has help give him a better visual reference for these numbers and there place values.Another review provided 3 stars based on the container. The quality of the container can be better, but this is a non-issue. The blocks can be put in a a Ziploc bag and you would still have a quality set of base ten blocks that will help your children learn some essential math skills.

We like how they interlock
We like how they interlock. There are some flaws in the plastic around the edges/sides but they don't affect use. The kids like them very much. Better than ones as school, they say, because they interlock and the units on tens and flats are clearly visibly separate (3D) whereas at school they are just delineated with lines. The plastic does have some flaws throughout and, as one reviewer mentioned, the storage box is flimsy. The solid thousand cube fell on my foot and actually cut the leather in my Dansko shoe ( it really hurt, too ) so, it is pretty sharp-edged at the corners. Just don't drop them on your feet! Thank goodness it is not "weighted" as one reviewer suggested.

Great learning blocks!
Love these blocks for learning. Bought for our daughter during the pandemic as she was using these in her class just before everything shut down. Great learning tool to use. Highly recommend! Great value for the price too! Love how it comes with its own case as well.

Decent product, but plastic is a bit too brittle and pieces fit together too tightly, leading to breaking when separating them
Decent price for what you get, tons of pieces and looks really nice. But the plastic is too brittle, leading to pieces that get stuck together and won't separate without breaking the plastic. Pieces lock together too tightly. Two pieces have already broken when being used by a child. Overall a decent buy, but it would be nice if they tweaked it slightly so the pieces fit together and came apart without using a lot of force.

As advertised
Love that its comes with a storage container and it's an excellent teaching tool for my 5 year old.

Container is a tad too small. But overall great product.
I’m excited to have my child work with this product as there are enough pieces to successfully manipulate with. Only disappointment is the container lid doesn’t fit as the block cubes are too tall and so it doesn’t close properly...a container that is a bit bigger would have been better as I purchased this item because it had its own storage.

I would like a set with more options to be able to connect in different ways.
The tub and lid is cheap and it came all cracked. I will have to buy another safe durable tub that my child can safely put his hands in without any worries of cuts.Thousands piece does not come together at all. The hundreds piece is heavier but only connects in flats like Lego, one on top of another. The tens come in stack that also are like Lego that connect on top of another. You can not take them apart to make ones. The ones pieces only connect by putting together on top of one another like Lego. Hope this helps . I was expecting to be able to connect the pieces in more ways but cannot.
